Reason: Most of the article appears to fall underWP:CT/IMH. FDW777 (talk) 10:36, 1 August 2026 (UTC)

Indefinite create protection: Repeatedly recreated – As one user has repeatedly recreated this template under multiple names, please set to require at least WP:TPE to create if not admin only. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 14:05, 1 August 2026 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – Persistent unsourced additions of a possible football transfer.  Quinn (talk  it/its) 17:19, 1 August 2026 (UTC)

Pending changes protection: Persistent addition of unsourced/poorly-sourced material + sockpuppetry + vandalism. TA edits are rarely consecutive in this article. So I think it would be a good idea to put all non-autoconfirmed edits under review. Giovanni Potage (talk) 19:31, 1 August 2026 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – An IP user keeps on coming with different temporary accounts and continues bolding a certain section in the lead "Enforcement Vigilance and Disaster Management Department (EV&DM)" unnecessarily. It's not per MOS:BOLD. I tried contacting them in all instances to get their inputs on this. No response has been received. Even their edit summary doesn't say anything. Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Possible sockpuppets as well.   Skywatcher68 (talk) 17:36, 3 August 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Potential edit warring over a contribution to the Controversies section. Removals of the passage in question have been reverted, several times by unregistered editors. There are three sections in the Talk page dedicated to discussing this, all in disapproval.

Issues with the contribution include possible use of AI, lack of a neutral point of view, lack of notability, use of niche terms, and overall disregard for Wikipedia's style guide and policies.

I'm not confident on the best ways to prevent edit warring besides making a protection request, feel free to deny or to grant the lowest possible protection. Yahyehoku (talk) 17:39, 3 August 2026 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level

Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Unprotection: 8 years have passed since this should have been an issue, seeing how there's been no disruption basically on the other lists of deaths of Wikipedians by year in more recent years, unprotection should be okay. MakaylaHippo1998 (talk) 07:07, 31 July 2026 (UTC)

See the instructions. You're supposed to contact the protecting admin before making a request here. In this case that admin is Oshwah, who is active today. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 14:34, 31 July 2026 (UTC)

@Anachronist not necessarily only contact admin first you can also do – ping–@ to Oshwah he will respond on this page either this have two options either contact to protected admin or ping instead which ever one. ~2026-42820-77 (talk) 05:38, 2 August 2026 (UTC)

Pinging is not approprate. You are only supposed to post here at all only if the protecting administrator is inactive or after you have already asked them and have not received a response, as the bright yellow highlighted text at the top of the page, that is still not read by far too many people, says. - The Bushranger One ping only 08:09, 2 August 2026 (UTC)

Unprotection: This article was intended to be semi-protected for only one week, not indefinitely, as stated in the protection request a week ago. Seems to be a recurring issue where some articles intended to be protected temporarily were somehow not set to expire. This also happened to the Dzhankoi article; it is intended to be extended confirmed protected for one year (see also here), but the protection wasn't set to expire initially. Requests for autopatrolled

Autopatrolled

I have created 35+ articles and intend to continue creating more. I believe my article creation history demonstrates familiarity with Wikipedia's content and sourcing policies, and so I am requesting the autopatrolled right to help reduce workload for New Pages Patrol.LivingLife1976 (talk) 11:25, 1 August 2026 (UTC) LivingLife1976 (talk) 11:25, 1 August 2026 (UTC)

I have created 50+ articles, including one improvment GA: Bishop O'Dowd High School. I have done much recent work at WP:AFC and previous work (10,000+ reviews) at WP:NPP. I believe that my two most recent article Zachary's Chicago Pizza and Thunder Bay 36 Fire is a testament to my well-sourced, well-organized, and well-written articles. I've since been more careful to verify sources match the claims they support, as raised in my previous request. Thanks, CostalCal (talk) 07:07, 3 August 2026 (UTC)

Automated comment This user has had 1 request for autopatrolled declined or withdrawn in the past 90 days (). MusikBot talk 07:10, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
@CostalCal:  Not done It's only been a week. Please wait at least a month so there's time for NPP reviewers to look at your contributions. voorts (talk/contributions) 13:41, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
@voorts Sorry, are autopatrolled and NPP being conflated incorrectly? CostalCal (talk) 15:02, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
@CostalCal: No. Your AP request was declined on July 25. I am declining again because there were issues identified with your edits and it's only been a week. Please build up a clean history before applying again. voorts (talk/contributions) 15:19, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
@CostalCal
I immediately noticed multiple simple issues on Zachary's Chicago Pizza:
  • All five magazines/newspapers listed in the lede should be italicized. (this occurs in the article body too)
  • The first sentence of the article's body reads "The company was founded on July 25, 1983 by..." – it is missing a comma and should read "The company was founded on July 25, 1983, by..."
  • Same issue at "Zachary's opened a second location in Berkeley, California on...", which should read "Zachary's opened a second location in Berkeley, California, on..." (this occurs again with Oakland)
  • There are MOS:GEOLINK issues in the infobox
I dont have time to take a full look at Thunder Bay 36 Fire but immediately noticed "By late July, the fire measured to be at almost 314,000 hectares by 28–29 July"
aesurias (ping me in your reply, or I won't see it) (talk) 02:57, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
@Aesurias Look, I'm not hear to argue with you, and yes these are issues I will address. However, Auto-patrolling aside these are minor issues. Also, Thunder Bay 36 Fire is in Canadian English. CostalCal (talk) 03:25, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
They're definitely minor issues @CostalCal but good examples of where (in my opinion) you can demonstrate your attention to detail, which will help you if/when you re-apply :)
In any form of English, the phrasing of the sentence I mentioned from Thunder Bay 36 Fire does not make sense. One of the bolded sections can be removed as redundant. aesurias (ping me in your reply, or I won't see it) (talk) 03:38, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
These are nitpicks, not something I'd decline AP over. voorts (talk/contributions) 03:28, 4 August 2026 (UTC)

My account has been see's new here, but i am fully and completely more knowledgeable outside the platforms for high quality articles reviewed. Requests for AutoWikiBrowser access

AutoWikiBrowser

Would like to use when I get my computer back, will use to do edits that if done manually would be tedious. Beta Beta Beta - talk 22:06, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

Beta Beta Beta, can you give us any more specific examples? In solidarity, asilvering (talk) 22:19, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
To provide one example, simple copy editing would be far easier with AWB than having to look through the page for the possibility of a slip-up. Beta Beta Beta - talk 22:39, 16 July 2026 (UTC)

I would like to create navigation templates for groups of related articles that currently lack them and use AWB to add those templates where appropriate. I have not created navigation templates before, but I am familiar with Wikipedia’s policies and would take care to review my work and ensure edits are appropriate. I understand if more experience with this type of maintenance work is needed before being granted the permission. If granted, I would use AWB carefully and review each edit before saving. Mascius (talk) 19:49, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

Hi there, I would like to use AWB to help speed up edits replacing the deprecated |alma_mater= parameter from some infoboxes. Here are some examples of the type of edit I have made manualy, , and here is an example of another user who has used AWB to make these types of edits HaphazardBinBag (talk) 21:26, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

I already have some experience with making changes using semi-automatic tools I build myself with PyWikiBot, but it would be a lot easier if I didn't have to write an entire program each time I want to make new edits.

I would use AWB to help me add add navboxes I create to various pages in a category, fix duplicated and deprecated parameters in templates, and test AWB scripts that I may submit BRFAs for as FlammableBot tasks in the future. FlammablePizza (talk) 23:32, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
Requests for new page reviewer

New page reviewer

Hi! I'd like to request the New Page Reviewer user right to help reduce the backlog. I have experience with page creations, having created or converted from redirect 122 pages. I've also promoted two articles to WP:GAs, and am frequently active in DYK, in AfD and in GANRs. Jishara (talk) 12:23, 29 July 2026 (UTC)

I can confirm @Jishara is an excellent participant at AfD. Having recently returned after a two month break, I've found their comments to be beneficial in helping establish my own thoughts on nominated articles. They are already autopatrolled, and have authored over a hundred BLPs. (Huge respect to the redirect expansions I'll add!) I think they're more than set for patrolling. You have my support, @Jishara! (Non-administrator comment) 11WB 💬 00:09, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
Just noting that I, and likely other admins, are holding off on evaluating this request because of the significant amount of recent AFDs that Jishara has participated in but which have not yet been closed. This is not in any way a mark against Jishara, but with about 20% of their AFD participations pending closure, attempting to assess their track record right now would either entail premature exclusion of recent participation, or a lot of duplicated work in assessing their participation in those recent discussions. signed, Rosguill talk 19:35, 3 August 2026 (UTC)

I previously held the temporary New Page Reviewer permissions for one month, which has now expired. During this time, I used the Page Curation tool to review articles and drafts according to Wikipedia's policies. Since my temporary right has expired, I would like to request full restoration of my permission,so that I may continue to help the community with the backlog. I would like to request New Page Reviewer rights to help the community reduce the massive backlog of unpatrolled articles [en.wikipedia.org, en.wikipedia.org]. I have spent a lot of time learning the notability guidelines (WP:N) and verifiability policies, and I want to use my time to ensure new articles meet Wikipedia's standards. I have been on Wikipedia since the last 2 years and have edited pages related to various disciplines, for example nuclear power, history, politics, etc. During this process, some conflicts have occurred with other editors, which I have attempted to heal, have recently issued invitations to numerous editors to co-operate in building Draft: Rig-Veda-Sanhita, The Sacred Hymns Of The Brahmans, a page on the edition of the Rigveda by F. Max Müller. I have also been the Pioneer author of articles such as Bharat Small Modular Reactor, Shivajirao Patwardhan, Sharavathi Pumped Storage Hydropower Project. I am also working on Draft: Partial meltdown of Leningrad unit 1 and Chernobyl unit 1 and more debated Draft: Sanjay Kumar Manjul. So as to improve my contributions to the encyclopedia, I would like to make a kind request to the admins to grant me this permission. Thank you. IND123456 (talk) 18:11, 3 August 2026 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions and your interest in this permission. Regrettably, I note that you appear to have been involved in edit wars at James Mill (among other pages), and failed Draft submissions in the last few months. Please consider reapplying in the future when you have a longer clean track record of constructive editing.  Not done for now. signed, Rosguill talk 20:05, 3 August 2026 (UTC)

I have since unvanished & resumed editing & been otherwise declared fine to repursue perms since in good standing per Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Archive382#Restoring_user_rights_for_unvanished_editors. Requests for pending changes reviewer

Pending changes reviewer

I am requesting the pending changes reviewer permission to assist with maintaining the quality of articles on English Wikipedia. My contributions have primarily focused on expanding and improving articles by adding reliable, independent sources, improving references, and organizing content in accordance with Wikipedia's content policies. 0ximjub43r (talk) 22:12, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

I am familiar with Wikipedia and its guidelines; occasionally come across pending changes I'd like to review. MSWS (talk) 03:18, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting pending changes reviewer rights I would like to be able to review edits that are on pending changes pages, as well as unprotected pages. I have 900 edits now, which a good number of them are anti-vandal edits. I also feel that I have a good knowledge on Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and I feel I could use that knowledge on pending changes pages as well as unprotected pages. MathMan4 (talk) 06:03, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

I would like to review pending changes encountered during recent edits patrol. I am familiar with Wikipedia's content policies. Mascius (talk) 18:28, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

In my recent changes patrols, I semi-frequently come across pending changes. If the changes are vandalism, I revert them, but I would also like the ability to accept good pending changes while I'm at it. I already have rollback, extended confirmed, and over 1.6k edits. I also have read and am familiar with the relevant policies. FlammablePizza (talk) 21:20, 31 July 2026 (UTC)

I would like to have pending changes reviewer rights, because I occasionally come across pending changes that I am interested in accepting/not accepting on the recent changes page. I have experience with the necessary policies from actions like patrolling recent changes, writing articles that go through the AfC process to get accepted, and DyK and GA participation. Bungle491 (talk) 19:54, 2 August 2026 (UTC)

I have made a few thousand edits now, many of which are in blp/ antivandalism, and i very regularly see pending changes that i feel i have the skills and knowledge to appropriately approve or deny, and generally think this is a good way i can continue to help contribute to wikipedia. i have read the relevant guidelines and feel my experience applies pretty directly to evaluating all the criteria except copyright, but i am more than willing and able to learn and have been reading up on the copyright policies in advance of sending this request. Requests for rollback

Rollback

I would like to request Rollback rights. My last request was on 18 May. According to previous advice, I have tried to follow a clear workflow, including issuing warnings and reporting Vandalism, Block evasion, and Disruptive editing at AIV, RFPP, and AN/EW. In addition, I use Twinkle for warnings, reports, and reverts. AriuCH (talk) 18:27, 2 July 2026 (UTC)

I've recently been using SWViewer and Twinkle to revert vandalism, so this permission would be very useful for me. I'm already very familiar with how it works, as I already have this permission on other Wikimedia projects. -- 🐦‍🔥 Aws 💬 Talk 14:23, 12 July 2026 (UTC)

I would like to request Rollback permissions firstly in order to make use of tools like Huggle & AntiVandal. Secondly rollback permissions will allow me to increase the speed of my workflow as most of it consists of RC patrolling edits by unregistered & new accounts. My contribution history demonstrates that I have multiple months of RC Patrol experience and no history of edit warring. At the time of writing this I have 656 live edits of which 220 are in the Main namespace and 262 are in the User Talk namespace, this shows my track record of consistently notifying editors when reverting their edits. Vydrakk (talk) 10:03, 15 July 2026 (UTC)

I would like to request my Rollback rights. My previous request on June 15 was declined because I was blocked for making disruptive edits. Since I'm autoconfirmed, I use Twinkle to revert the edits which was vandalized by the IPs (or later TAs). Thomasfan1916[built buses?] 20:15, 23 July 2026 (UTC)

I am requesting permanent rollback rights after a 1 month trial in the past, as well as my recent 3 month trial. Over the course of the past few months, I have served as a CVUA instructor, and have continued using antivandalism tools like Wikishield and CVPI to prevent vandalism from infecting the wiki. I would like to request rollback rights. I check the recent changes page a couple times a day and I use Twinkle currently to revert vandalism. I have over 200 mainspace edits as well as extended-confirmed permissions. I always use warning templates after reverting edits and make reports to AIV when necessary. Rollback would help me look through recent changes much more effectively with tools such as Interceptor or WikiShield. If not permanent, a month-long trial run of rollback would also work, so that I could reapply eventually. Bungle491 (talk) 06:27, 28 July 2026 (UTC)

I have antivandalism experience and I am requesting rollback permissions to be better equipped to fight vandals. My track record shows that I'm good at differentiating between vandalism and good faith edits, and responding accordingly. - Otherwise (Talk?) 02:50, 29 July 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting rollback rights I have 900 edits now, which a lot of them are reverting vandalism and ensuring pages follow Wikipedia's quality guidelines. I feel that being able to rollback pages/edits will help me ensure that Wikipedia's quality standards are being met, especially when a user has made multiple poor-quality edits. MathMan4 (talk) 05:57, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting rollback rights, I mainly edit reality shows and there are constantly fan edits. I have to revert in most cases to stable one but it unfortunately also includes some good edits. Overall, extra hard work. Rollback will definitely help me. :) Tenshi Uisu (talk) 16:05, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

Been on wp for almost a year now with 5000 edits, already use Twinkle on a regular basis and would be useful when I'm reviewing pages. Fortek67 (talk) 12:13, 31 July 2026 (UTC)

I would like to request rollback rights as it will help me fight vandalism. I currently use Twinkle and I would like to use tools such as CVPI to revert vandalism quicker. Alpha Beta Delta Lambda (talk) 22:00, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
Requests for template editor

Template editor

Hi. I am requesting TE rights so I can make edits to template-protected template faster. I have numerous (over 5) template requests, of which I believe around 5 have been accepted, and have made over 3 sandbox edits. My main template edite are those which help readability on Dark Mode while minimally affecting light mode, such as my series of edite to Wdefcon templates ({{Edit COI/backlog}}, {{AfC information}}, etc.). With TE, I would be able to make more of these, alongside others. Axolitl (talk | contribs) 22:49, 14 July 2026 (UTC)

I recently possessed the template editor right, but it expired on July 1. I would like to request permanent template editor rights. I have met all the criteria for granting. I also am willing to prove I can be responsible again with possessing the template editor right permanently. CharlesEditor23 (talk) 05:13, 24 July 2026 (UTC)

Could you point to a few examples of where you have used the right on high-risk templates in the past few months?  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:35, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
Yes. I have used the template editor right on Module:Gridiron color/data & Module:College color/data, which are both high-risk templates. Here's the edit diff from May 22, 2026 from when I previously had the WP:TPE right and used it to change the HTML hex color codes for the Canadian Football League (CFL)'s Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Here's the edit diff from April 29, 2026 from when I previously had the template editor right and used it to change the historical HTML color codes for the National Football League (NFL)'s Dallas Cowboys. Here's the edit diff from March 29, 2026 from when I previously had the template editor right and used it to change the URL source reference for the California Golden Bears. CharlesEditor23 (talk) 03:40, 26 July 2026 (UTC)
Are the examples I've provided sufficient enough? The main reason why I'm requesting WP:TPE right is so I may be able to make changes to high risk templates such as Module:Gridiron color/data & Module:College color/data. I'm happy to answer any & all other questions. CharlesEditor23 (talk) 16:47, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
I will note I haven't had a chance to look at them yet; please be patient. Primefac (talk) 21:53, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
I will note I am somewhat concerned about a lack of forethought and/or sandboxing, specifically:
That being said, there does appear to be a reasonable amount of sandboxing for some of these changes (e.g. Special:Diff/1348021134), and I am very appreciative of the descriptive edit summaries (With a courtesy ping to WikiOriginal-9 who edits the same modules without any summaries). As I think I've said before, no one is perfect (my talk page is a perfect example of that), and (so far) no one seems to have noticed or cared about the occasionally-rapid-reverts of changes. I'd like to wait to hear what MSGJ thinks about this since they asked the initial follow-up question, but I think at the moment I am tentatively an accept. Primefac (talk) 13:20, 2 August 2026 (UTC)

Hello! My bot CutlassBot is applying the {{Deprecated archive}} template (recently protected). I’d like template editor permission while the bot is doing its run to apply the template so that I can handle any issues that come up for example, I have one change request pending at Module talk:Deprecated archive. I don’t intend to change any other high risk templates during this run. This is my first template so I don’t meet the guideline criteria. Alternatively, maybe we remove the protection from the module, but I think it’s lower risk to grant me the editor privileges for 3 months. Thanks for considering!
