Template:Admin dashboard/light

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  1. Frequently, some pages transcluding {{Admin dashboard}} are going on overflow and appear at Category:Pages_where_post-expand_include_size_is_exceeded.
This Template:Admin dashboard/light has been rewritten by including directly all the parts that were dispersed in so many sub-templates.
  2. The "leaks out boxes" error has been fixed.
  3. Pages RFPP and UNFAA are simply linked (i.e. not transcluded) when too busy

I request the following sentence be removed from the lead's 2nd paragraph:

"and subsequently annexing the Strait of Hormuz"

This sentence was recently added but is completely unsourced, not in the body, and POV pushing. Although Iran has claimed sovereignty over the strait, there are no sources claiming that it has actually successfully annexed it during the ongoing war or even attempted officially to do so. The linked page on sovereignty in the text which is a new page created by the same user also doesn't even support this wording of annexation. Current talks between Iran and Oman are about shared administration as well, not annexation. ~2026-43592-81 (talk) 07:20, 7 August 2026 (UTC)

The current wording states:

“Present DGP (Additional Charge) of Haryana Police is Ajay Singhal since January 1, 2026.”

The article lists under US casualties that there have been "42 aircraft lost", which is inaccurate as the sourced article states "42 aircraft lost or damaged", as it mentions examples such as an F-35 being damaged by missile fire, but surviving.

"42 aircraft lost" should be simply changed to "42 aircraft lost or damaged" Emkut7 (talk) 22:06, 10 August 2026 (UTC)

The following inclusion in the Background section claiming that Hamas on October 7th carried out sexual violence should be removed:

"The attack included grave acts of violence, including sexual violence.[85] "

This claim includes a citation that when reading does not within it contain a citation or evidence. It is a false claim that has been widely refuted.

I suggest removing this sentence due to an insufficient citation as there are a number of sources which have disproven this claim as propaganda from the Israeli state. Tolepekinape (talk) 15:37, 11 August 2026 (UTC)

Autopatrolled

[edit]

I have created 35+ articles and intend to continue creating more. I believe my article creation history demonstrates familiarity with Wikipedia's content and sourcing policies, and so I am requesting the autopatrolled right to help reduce workload for New Pages Patrol.LivingLife1976 (talk) 11:25, 1 August 2026 (UTC) LivingLife1976 (talk) 11:25, 1 August 2026 (UTC)

(Non-administrator comment) @LivingLife1976 Kismet Ke Here Phere created in mainspace on 20 July, tagged for additional citations the following day, orphan-tagged on 30 July (not a big deal), and moved by you to draftspace on 1 August "for further improvement", less than four hours before this request was filed. I believe this indicates that at least one very recent creation benefited from the scrutiny this permission would have bypassed.
But then, on 16 February Diannaa removed 1,113 bytes from Draft:Rawal Jagmal, identifying the removed material as copied from a published gazetteer. I would not treat this incident alone as decisive, especially given your subsequent works, but copyright familiarity is directly relevant as an autopatrolled user. So, I'd recommend waiting for a longer clean record of fully prepared mainspace creations, after all, that is what this bit is about; it doesn't make you capable of anything special on-wiki. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 14:10, 4 August 2026 (UTC)

Hi! I'm here to request permanent autopatrolled rights. I was previously granted a 2-month temporary autopatrolled right back in June, but the period will end on August 11th. In total, I've created over 130 articles for Wikipedia with a focus on biographies of underrepresented individuals, including 10 DYKs, and have brought two articles to GA status. I've also been quite active in the Articles for Deletion procedure and in GA reviewing. I've grown quite familiar with the process of article creation on Wikipedia, and plan to continue creating more articles, so I'd love to get permanent autopatrolled rights. Thank you! Jishara (please ping upon response) (talk) 20:40, 4 August 2026 (UTC)

I am an experienced Wikipedian, former admin (107/1/1). Desysoped in 2023 due to inactivity. I originally received autopatrolled priviliges in 2009, although these seem to have been revoked during the desysoping. According to my tally, I have about 50 thousand edits, have created about two and a half thousand articles, have significantly contributed to 207 DYKs, 187 GAs, 19 FLs, 4 GT and 2 FT, and have conducted 309 GA reviews. I regularly create new articles, so hope that status as 'autopatrolled' can help offload the patrols. Arsenikk (talk) 18:03, 5 August 2026 (UTC)

Confirmed

[edit]

Reason for requesting confirmed rights My account was registered on August 6, 2026, and currently has 12 edits, which meets the standard autoconfirmed threshold (4+ days, 10+ edits). However, my account has not yet been automatically flagged as autoconfirmed, and I'm unable to create a new article as a result. I have a sourced draft ready to publish. Requesting the confirmed flag to resolve this. Sikalorka (talk) 22:41, 10 August 2026 (UTC)

Not done It has not yet been 4 days since your first edit. If you're wanting to create a new article, I strongly suggest you go through the articles for creation process, as that allows you to get feedback and make subsequent improvements on your draft article before it goes live. You do not need to be autoconfirmed to create a draft in this way. stwalkerster (talk) 22:53, 10 August 2026 (UTC)

I wish to be granted confirmed rights due to the fact that my main account, JosephtheDalmatian, does have autoconfirmed status, this is my alternate account I use in times when my main is not available, and I would much appreciate it if I were given confirmed rights. JodyRider123 (talk) 15:13, 11 August 2026 (UTC)

Page mover

[edit]

I'm shooting my shot because I've had multiple occasions, including one within just the last few hours, when I had to wait for an administrator to delete a redirect so I could move a draft I'd been working on to mainspace. I'd like to cut out the middle human and be able to delete redirects by simply moving over them – certainly it would be one less addition to the admin workload. I admittedly don't have a ton of experience with requested moves, so I'll understand if this request is declined on those grounds. If this request is granted, then I promise I'll be careful with the new tools. Dylan620 (he/they/she • talkedits) 01:26, 9 August 2026 (UTC)

Hi. I've been fairly active recently at WP:RM, and have been closing elapsed requests a decent amount recently. I would like page mover rights in order to close requests more easily, specifically closing round-robin moves and mass-moves without having to request help at WP:RM/TR. I would also like to help close requests at WP:RM/TR, and this would also be helpful for draftifying when doing NPP.

I meet the editing requirements, and have not had any blocks or 3RR issues. Axolitl (talk | contribs) 22:03, 10 August 2026 (UTC)

Pending changes reviewer

[edit]

I am requesting the pending changes reviewer permission to assist with maintaining the quality of articles on English Wikipedia. My contributions have primarily focused on expanding and improving articles by adding reliable, independent sources, improving references, and organizing content in accordance with Wikipedia's content policies. 0ximjub43r (talk) 22:12, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

I am familiar with Wikipedia and its guidelines; occasionally come across pending changes I'd like to review. MSWS (talk) 03:18, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting pending changes reviewer rights I would like to be able to review edits that are on pending changes pages, as well as unprotected pages. I have 900 edits now, which a good number of them are anti-vandal edits. I also feel that I have a good knowledge on Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and I feel I could use that knowledge on pending changes pages as well as unprotected pages. MathMan4 (talk) 06:03, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

I would like to review pending changes encountered during recent edits patrol. I am familiar with Wikipedia's content policies. Mascius (talk) 18:28, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

In my recent changes patrols, I semi-frequently come across pending changes. If the changes are vandalism, I revert them, but I would also like the ability to accept good pending changes while I'm at it. I already have rollback, extended confirmed, and over 1.6k edits. I also have read and am familiar with the relevant policies. FlammablePizza (talk) 21:20, 31 July 2026 (UTC)

I would like to have pending changes reviewer rights, because I occasionally come across pending changes that I am interested in accepting/not accepting on the recent changes page. I have experience with the necessary policies from actions like patrolling recent changes, writing articles that go through the AfC process to get accepted, and DyK and GA participation. Bungle491 (talk) 19:54, 2 August 2026 (UTC)

Rollback

[edit]

I would like to request Rollback rights. My last request was on 18 May. According to previous advice, I have tried to follow a clear workflow, including issuing warnings and reporting Vandalism, Block evasion, and Disruptive editing at AIV, RFPP, and AN/EW. In addition, I use Twinkle for warnings, reports, and reverts. AriuCH (talk) 18:27, 2 July 2026 (UTC)

I've recently been using SWViewer and Twinkle to revert vandalism, so this permission would be very useful for me. I'm already very familiar with how it works, as I already have this permission on other Wikimedia projects. -- 🐦‍🔥 Aws 💬 Talk 14:23, 12 July 2026 (UTC)

I would like to request Rollback permissions firstly in order to make use of tools like Huggle & AntiVandal. Secondly rollback permissions will allow me to increase the speed of my workflow as most of it consists of RC patrolling edits by unregistered & new accounts. My contribution history demonstrates that I have multiple months of RC Patrol experience and no history of edit warring. At the time of writing this I have 656 live edits of which 220 are in the Main namespace and 262 are in the User Talk namespace, this shows my track record of consistently notifying editors when reverting their edits. Vydrakk (talk) 10:03, 15 July 2026 (UTC)

I would like to request my Rollback rights. My previous request on June 15 was declined because I was blocked for making disruptive edits. Since I'm autoconfirmed, I use Twinkle to revert the edits which was vandalized by the IPs (or later TAs). Thomasfan1916[built buses?] 20:15, 23 July 2026 (UTC)

This is very concerning. Edits like this and this are not problematic on their own but when done hundreds of times and requesting permissions may constitute WP:GAMING Czarking0 (talk) 04:58, 11 August 2026 (UTC)

I am requesting permanent rollback rights after a 1 month trial in the past, as well as my recent 3 month trial. Over the course of the past few months, I have served as a CVUA instructor, and have continued using antivandalism tools like Wikishield and CVPI to prevent vandalism from infecting the wiki. Norellia.sh(talk) 08:29, 26 July 2026 (UTC)

I would like to request rollback rights. I check the recent changes page a couple times a day and I use Twinkle currently to revert vandalism. I have over 200 mainspace edits as well as extended-confirmed permissions. I always use warning templates after reverting edits and make reports to AIV when necessary. Rollback would help me look through recent changes much more effectively with tools such as Interceptor or WikiShield. If not permanent, a month-long trial run of rollback would also work, so that I could reapply eventually. Bungle491 (talk) 06:27, 28 July 2026 (UTC)

I have antivandalism experience and I am requesting rollback permissions to be better equipped to fight vandals. My track record shows that I'm good at differentiating between vandalism and good faith edits, and responding accordingly. - Otherwise (Talk?) 02:50, 29 July 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting rollback rights I have 900 edits now, which a lot of them are reverting vandalism and ensuring pages follow Wikipedia's quality guidelines. I feel that being able to rollback pages/edits will help me ensure that Wikipedia's quality standards are being met, especially when a user has made multiple poor-quality edits. MathMan4 (talk) 05:57, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

Having rollback rights would also allow me to use AntiVandal, which would be useful for reverting vandalism. MathMan4 (talk) 06:49, 5 August 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting rollback rights, I mainly edit reality shows and there are constantly fan edits. I have to revert in most cases to stable one but it unfortunately also includes some good edits. Overall, extra hard work. Rollback will definitely help me. :) Tenshi Uisu (talk) 16:05, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

Been on wp for almost a year now with 5000 edits, already use Twinkle on a regular basis and would be useful when I'm reviewing pages. Fortek67 (talk) 12:13, 31 July 2026 (UTC)

I would like to request rollback rights as it will help me fight vandalism. I currently use Twinkle and I would like to use tools such as CVPI to revert vandalism quicker. Alpha Beta Delta Lambda (talk) 22:00, 2 August 2026 (UTC)

Articles are often subjected to persistent vandalism by unregistered IP users or even newly registered users. Such edits are frequently spotted while patrolling recent changes. Reverting these edits using the Twinkle gadget is quite cumbersome. I know when to use rollback. Mathew D'Marco (talk) 17:33, 4 August 2026 (UTC)

I am requesting the rollback permission to help efficiently revert blatant vandalism and construct history fixes. I understand that rollback is only for clear vandalism and not for content disputes. Elison Pokhrel TALK 14:52, 6 August 2026 (UTC)

I have done a lot of anti-vandalism work in recent weeks but have been frustrated by my inability to be able to restore a previous version due to conflicting errors after vandalism.

I consistently notify users and reply to their messages, and try to assist them and tell them what they have done wrong.

I understand the uses of this tool and how it is not for content disputes, and I would use this tool responsibly.

I have taken feedback from my last request, and I believe I am now in a place to apply.

Thanks for your consideration. Equivalent-Text2598 (talk) 22:39, 8 August 2026 (UTC)

Template editor

[edit]

I recently possessed the template editor right, but it expired on July 1. I would like to request permanent template editor rights. I have met all the criteria for granting. I also am willing to prove I can be responsible again with possessing the template editor right permanently. CharlesEditor23 (talk) 05:13, 24 July 2026 (UTC)

Could you point to a few examples of where you have used the right on high-risk templates in the past few months?  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:35, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
Yes. I have used the template editor right on Module:Gridiron color/data & Module:College color/data, which are both high-risk templates. Here's the edit diff from May 22, 2026 from when I previously had the WP:TPE right and used it to change the HTML hex color codes for the Canadian Football League (CFL)'s Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Here's the edit diff from April 29, 2026 from when I previously had the template editor right and used it to change the historical HTML color codes for the National Football League (NFL)'s Dallas Cowboys. Here's the edit diff from March 29, 2026 from when I previously had the template editor right and used it to change the URL source reference for the California Golden Bears. CharlesEditor23 (talk) 03:40, 26 July 2026 (UTC)
Are the examples I've provided sufficient enough? The main reason why I'm requesting WP:TPE right is so I may be able to make changes to high risk templates such as Module:Gridiron color/data & Module:College color/data. I'm happy to answer any & all other questions. CharlesEditor23 (talk) 16:47, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
I will note I haven't had a chance to look at them yet; please be patient. Primefac (talk) 21:53, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
I will note I am somewhat concerned about a lack of forethought and/or sandboxing, specifically:
That being said, there does appear to be a reasonable amount of sandboxing for some of these changes (e.g. Special:Diff/1348021134), and I am very appreciative of the descriptive edit summaries (With a courtesy ping to WikiOriginal-9 who edits the same modules without any summaries). As I think I've said before, no one is perfect (my talk page is a perfect example of that), and (so far) no one seems to have noticed or cared about the occasionally-rapid-reverts of changes. I'd like to wait to hear what MSGJ thinks about this since they asked the initial follow-up question, but I think at the moment I am tentatively an accept. Primefac (talk) 13:20, 2 August 2026 (UTC)

Hello! My bot CutlassBot is applying the {{Deprecated archive}} template (recently protected). I’d like template editor permission while the bot is doing its run to apply the template so that I can handle any issues that come up for example, I have one change request pending at Module talk:Deprecated archive. I don’t intend to change any other high risk templates during this run. This is my first template so I don’t meet the guideline criteria. Alternatively, maybe we remove the protection from the module, but I think it’s lower risk to grant me the editor privileges for 3 months. Thanks for considering! If pppery is okay with it I'll just drop the protection for a bit; you're the creator and so I assume that you'll keep a good eye on it. Primefac (talk) 22:15, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
I was doing a periodic batch check of all templates with at least 5000 transclusions, and don't have much stake in this specific template. I wish we applied more categorical rules and had less of a culture of exceptions when applying protections based on transclusion count, but for better or worse we do have a culture of exceptions so there's no harm in adding one more (in other words, lowering the protection is fine with me). * Pppery * in solidarity 01:12, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
Done, cheers. If you feel like having that discussion at some point, I think that would be a really productive brainstorm (even if it's just a casual thing on my talk page), as it's an interesting idea. Primefac (talk) 09:11, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
Dw31415, is the above satisfactory? Primefac (talk) 09:11, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
I think the requester needs Module:Deprecated archive unprotected. The template page should probably be TE-protected, since it just calls the module and there is no reason to change it. I have implemented an edit request for the module, but the requester, who created the module, will probably need to debug it (carefully, since it is transcluded in 20K pages now). – Jonesey95 (talk) 12:37, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
Oh, right, duh. Primefac (talk) 21:23, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
