Banothu Saideep
Banothu Saideep (born 25 December 2007) is an Indian kabaddi player from Telangana. He plays primarily as a raider and has represented teams in youth and development-level kabaddi competitions.
Early life and sporting career
Saideep begin his sporting journey while studying in the 4th standard at the Telangana State Sports School, Hakimpet. He initially trained and competed in gymnastics. Following an injury, he moved from gymnastics to kabaddi, beginning a new phase of his sporting career.
He developed his skills as a kabaddi raider through regular training and participation in competitive events. His performances subsequently led to opportunities at state and national youth-level camps and competitions.
Kabaddi career
In 2025, Saideep was selected for an Under-18 Indian kabaddi camp held in Telangana. During the training camp, he suffered an injury and was unable to continue normally with the camp. Following a period of recovery, he returned to competitive kabaddi.
After his recovery, Saideep represented the Khelo India Kabaddi Team, Hyderabad, where he played as a raider and became one of the team’s principal raiders.
He was later selected for the Yuva Telangana Championship, where he represented the Kakatiya Knights. He was among the youngest players associated with the team.
Playing position
Saideep primarily plays as a raider. His playing development has been influenced by his earlier experience in gymnastics, which helped him develop agility, balance, flexibility and movement skills relevant to kabaddi.
