You are currently viewing the requests for decrease in protection level subpage of Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below if you receive no response from them. Instructions To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). Reason: Like my last request, this is no longer needed as this was mostly used to prevent LTAs to moving the page to Grawp-like titles (e.g. H..A..G..G..E..R..?). This is how Grawp spells Hagrid's name in the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film from 2007. Because JarlaxleArtemis is an LTA that is no longer active, I recommend and suggest removing the protection or even a step further to removing the move protection of this page (extended confirmed would be okay for the Hagrid request). — SimpleObjects-9ei 🏖️/☀️/🥵 (see talk) 21:39, 27 July 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Reset pending protection: Low reject rate edits by new or TA users with the last rejected edit being on 26 July 2025. Being the only rejected pending edit of that year, the page doesn't seem to be attracting controversial BLP edits in the long-term.~2026-41989-38 (talk) 20:29, 29 July 2026 (UTC)

anachronist, Indefinite PC protection should be used only in cases of severe long-term disruption. and a time limited protection can only be imposed when disruption is severe but temporary. This doesn't explain why the seasons between 14 and 25 were never PCed (either temporarily or indefinitely). And given the fact that this 2009 season isn't receiving any media coverage, pending-protection is moot by now going forward.~2026-42323-17 (talk) 16:20, 30 July 2026 (UTC)

PC protection is a logical downgrade from semiprotection. It does no harm, doesn't prevent anyone from editing, and still provides protection in the event that the reduced protection attracts controversial edits from TAs. I see no reason to remove it completely without testing for several more months at this protection level. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 18:11, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
