Adding a new AfD discussion

I propose merging to Naomi Shelton because both articles are very short and half of the Shelton article is about The Gospel Queens anyways. Having two separate articles is not serving any purpose. Keep - I found three articles of Sigcov, one in french and two others in Arabic, see links and deeper discussion below. He also appears on the national charts of France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Belgium, which clears NMUSIC#2. though my searches are getting clogged up with Lamine Yamal, so its possible I could have missed something, from my own look I don't see anything about this guy pretty much at all. • Featured vocalist on the SNEP-certified Gold multi-platinum album Raï'n'B Fever (2004), performing on major hit singles including "Un Gaou à Oran" (with 113 & Magic System) and "Mon Bled" (with Rohff & Cheba Maria).

Of the things you listed, they're almost all database entries, Google Trends and Google Ngram (not sources), or mention him in passing like the Afrisson feature which only mentions his name, not talking about him at all. I'm not sure whether AfriCulture is a profile of him or something written by him, but it seems to have very similar text as the artist submitted bios. As for French Wikipedia, that is by no means dispositive - wikipedias don't have the same notability guidelines as each other. French cites three sources, though, and I have taken the opportunity to check each one:

Their first source, while currently a broken link did in fact exist (archive link here), and I buy it as reliable (it's bylined and seems to be a decent Algerian news source). The other two, however, don't appear to be news articles.

However, you did raise a good point on Gaou a Oran - that seems to get him past NMUSIC#2 because it appeared on Switzerland, Netherlands, France, and Belgium's national charts with him as an independently named artist. - thanks for mentioning charting as I actually hadn't ever used NMUSIC before!

I also dug up a few articles on him in Arabic by searching محمد لمين مُغَنٍّ (singer Mohamed Lamine) - this one and this one

Keep - I see a decent chunk of sigcov in this book, where he gets two pages of coverage. He also gets a decent chunk of sigcov in the fourth chapter of the Cambridge Companion to Recorded Music, and a decent chunk in this book on contracts in South African music. • Oppose/Keep - The group qualifies for their own article per several different criteria at WP:MUSICBIO, particularly #2 for a high-charting album and #6 due to having multiple notable members. It's also pretty obvious that they have a lot of reliable media coverage from established hip hop magazines. Meanwhile, having only one album is not a reason for discarding the group's article as there are many other notable musicians with just one album. Previous AFD in 2009 (!!!) closed as "no consensus". Only relevant GNews hits were one blurb at The Boot (website) and routine coverage of a local performance in Alabama. The sources currently in the article are mostly independent, low-level blogs that do not seem to be RSes, routine listings of concert dates, or the singer's own website. "Urban Country Blog" does not appaer to be an RS given its lack of editorial oversight or bylines, and the archived link to Country Music Tattletale is credited to the pseudonym "TawnyTucker", suggesting it is not an RS either.

While there are quite a few hits on newspapers.com, every single one was WP:ROUTINE coverage along the lines of the Augusta Chronicle article; i.e., "up-and-comer Sean Patrick McGraw to open for such-and-such". Precedent is that this does not constitute SIGCOV on its own. I found zero results on Newspapers.com and GNews searching the album or single names. Nothing relevant came up on worldradiohistory.com, and all hits on JSTOR and GBooks were false positives. I also could not verify the appearance in Country Weekly, although I do remember the "Who to watch" column in that magazine was usually a brief list at best. I also could not independently corroborate the claims of his music appearing in True Blood. He's danced around WP:NMUSIC a few times but never quite got there. The Swedish media archives have lost some of the usefulness they used to have (Retriever can't access web content the way they used to, and the Royal Library has limited remote access to anything younger than 100 years old), but there's a short piece in Expressen with some minor biographic detail, like the fact that he was working as a cleaner at the age or 22 ("Vad gör du nu för tiden ...", 9 June 1995). Nothing which can carry notability on its own. Swedish Wikipedia has a couple of references to the book Swedish Death Metal (2006).   That's interesting! I browsed through the interview by Metal Injection and noticed part of the interview covered his personal life and perhaps that would've been a source.
