| Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
|---|---|---|
|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection). After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to remove obvious vandalism.
Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level
Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level
Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Request the non-urgent protection of multiple pages that do not require immediate administrator attention

Reason: High level of IP vandalism and regular fan edits. IP’s and fans also put information that are yet to be broadcasted. Refer here, [1]. I request a temporary protection until show is airing. Thanks :) Tenshi Uisu (talk) 14:15, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
Checking to see if protection is necessary. there are a huge number of edits to sift through. Can you point to the most harmful ones. Otherwise and not hugely thrilled to remove access to IPs just yet. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 06:32, 26 July 2026 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – IP/temp account on a years-long crusade to question Batman's ancestry, possibly due to an understanding of what the term "direct descendent" means:

- [4]. Hatman31 (he/him · talk · contribs) 16:19, 25 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hatman31 removed referenced edit. It is well established that John Batman did not have any descendants who carried his name. The source of the claim in the cited published article referring to Daniel Batman being a direct descendant of John Batman, was Daniel Batman himself. The claim needs to be identified as such and attributed to Daniel Batman, not stated as a fact. There is no published article that supports the claim that John Batman had any direct descendant by the name Batman. Other published sources overwhelmingly identify that Daniel Batman could not be a direct descendant of John Batman as John Batman’s only son died aged eight years old. Why did Hatman31 remove a referenced edit? ~2026-41487-56 (talk) 23:34, 25 July 2026 (UTC)

Requesting Extended-Confirmed Protection: The article, which falls under CT/SA, was merged following its AfD. However, several accounts have since been repeatedly reverting the article back to its pre-merge. This has continued even after the article was placed under semi-confirmed protection. — EarthDude (Talk) 10:50, 26 July 2026 (UTC)

Reason: There is an ongoing edit war due to disputes about the political orientations/ideologies of various DSA caucuses and their relative positions to each other. Within DSA, these are longstanding debates, and with the advent of the creation of this article, many from across DSA's hundred-thousand members - as well as outsiders interested in learning and/or shaping the narrative about DSA - have decided to use Wikipedia to WP:BATTLE over these long-standing issues.
Given the high influx of edits, many of which are self-interested or from editors new to the subject and either not aware of these disputes or not aware of the actual positions and customs involved, I would request semi-protection for the page at this time. As the masses interested in editing the article are generally not semi-confirmed, I don't believe higher protection is warranted yet, albeit a close eye should be kept on the page just in case.
Disclosure, I am a (caucused) member of DSA, and thus have some interest here (which is why I am staying out of the debates as to the edits themselves); my submission of this request is solely for the good of the Wiki and its readers. Amyipdev (talk) 17:54, 26 July 2026 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
Unprotection: WP:TRYUNPROT. Semi-protected since July 2011 as an "obvious target" for disruptive editing, though the history of vandalism etc. does not seem lengthy enough to support this. No associated talk page disruption. Low-traffic page (only 6 average daily views over the past month). Protecting admin is no longer active. Entranced98 (talk) 15:14, 26 July 2026 (UTC)
