Kouji Okada, co-creator of Persona

Persona, previously marketed as Shin Megami Tensei: Persona outside Japan, is a video game franchise primarily developed by Atlus and owned by Sega. Centered around a series of Japanese role-playing video games, Persona is a spin-off from Atlus's Megami Tensei franchise. The first entry in the series, Revelations: Persona, was released in 1996 for the PlayStation. The series has seen several more games since, with the most recent main entry being Persona 3 Reload (2024). Persona began as a spin-off based on the positively-received high school setting of Shin Megami Tensei If... (1994). The series's core features include a group of students as the main cast, a silent protagonist similar to the mainline Megami Tensei franchise, and combat using Personas. Beginning with Persona 3 in 2006, the main series came to focus more on, and become renowned for, the immersive social-simulation elements that came with the addition of Social Links, which are directly linked to how Personas evolve. 1841 – Raja Muda Hashim, the uncle of Omar Ali Saifuddin II, Sultan of Brunei, conceded land to the British adventurer James Brooke to establish the Raj of Sarawak.
1911 – His Majesty's Airship No. 1, Britain's first rigid airship, was wrecked by strong winds before her maiden flight at Barrow-in-Furness (pictured).
1941 – Operation Barbarossa: A Wehrmacht training event known as the Mogilev Conference began, marking an increase in violence against Jews and other civilians in the areas under General Max von Schenckendorff's command.

The Tower of Hercules is an ancient Roman lighthouse in A Coruña, Galicia, Spain, overlooking the Atlantic coast. Built in the 1st century AD, it is the only fully preserved Roman lighthouse still used for maritime signalling. Its current height is 55 m (180 ft), following an 18th-century restoration which added a fourth storey, the original structure having been shorter and wider. The tower was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009.
