  • Source: *Wang, Juan (2012). Merry Laughter and Angry Curses: The Shanghai Tabloid Press, 1897-1911. Contemporary Chinese Studies. Vancouver: University of British Columbia Press. p. 34. ISBN 978-0-7748-2340-1. Li Boyuan, along with Ouyang Juyuan and Pang Shubo, who was then working with him at Fun, enlisted the four courtesans to spearhead a fundraising campaign to establish a suburban cemetery site for the exclusive use of Shanghai's courtesans and prostitutes. To help solicit donations, promoters circulated photos of the "Four Buddhist Warrior Attendants." The campaign continued for six months, generated a large literary production, and ended with the purchase of the cemetery site.

  • Great article built from solid sources. No copyright issues detected or other problems found. QPQ has been done. Book hooks are interesting and verified to the cited references. The promoter may choose between these two hooks at their discretion. Image is properly licensed and may be used. Nice work!4meter4 (talk) 02:02, 17 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
