Additions to our Page
[edit]I have a conflict of interest in that I work on some fundraising assistance for Video Volunteers. However, I just want to update our page with new information that has not been updated in some time. I would please request an editor review these changes (all with independent sources) and make the additions to our page. ADD 1.1 — Al Jazeera correspondent count Where: End of Work section. Text: "A 2024 profile in the Al Jazeera Journalism Review described Video Volunteers as a network of 248 community video creators from India's most marginalised groups, documenting the lives of the country's socially and economically weakest people, the majority in rural areas." Source: https://institute.aljazeera.net/en/ajr/article/2744
ADD 1.2 — MIT GovLab field description Where: Work / Methodology. Text: "Researchers from the MIT Governance Lab, who studied the network's correspondents in Bihar and Jharkhand, described how correspondents petition local governments — often alongside affected communities — to address infrastructure problems such as broken handpumps, missing latrines, and electrification, as well as social issues including gender-based violence and caste discrimination." ADD 1.3 — Founder fellowships Where: Honors and awards. Text: "Co-founder Jessica Mayberry has been recognised as an Ashoka Fellow, an Echoing Green Fellow, and a TED Fellow." Sources: https://www.ashoka.org/en-us/fellow/jessica-mayberry https://fellows.echoinggreen.org/fellow/jessica-mayberry/
