Canoe is correct. The only thing reliable sources have ever said is that he was born in New Zealand. To prevent confusion in the lead and to add clarity, I changed "New Zealand-born American television news producer and foreign correspondent" to "New Zealand-born U.S. television news producer and foreign correspondent". There's no evidence that he was American, but he certainly was a U.S. television journalist. Also, even if he is a New Zealander, the Nationality field isn't needed in the infobox; his place of birth says New Zealand, which is enough.
