Unsourced, politically-loaded sentence removed from lead section

[edit]

The lead section of this article previously ended with the following sentence:

"Another viewpoint is that western journalists have the wrong mindset to report on Cambodian news stories properly as they do not understand Asian culture."

This was tagged because it lacked any supporting citation, but I don't think that actually matters much here. This is not a credible or notable "viewpoint" — it's a thinly-veiled defence of Cambodian government censorship. To the extent that a Wikipedia page presents the rhetoric of an authoritarian regime, it should be clearly described as such. This sentence lacks any such context or a supporting citation, so I've gone a step further and simply removed it.

Should anybody object to this change, they are welcome to revert, discuss, etc. Foxmilder (talk) 01:02, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
