confusion about phi

There is a confusion between two kinds of $\phi$. However I do not know how to correct it due to the following :

$\phi$

$\phi \otimes$

(see the wiki code to understand what confuse me). The one seems to be html while the other looks like LaTeX. How to force LaTeX everywhere ?

If anybody knows where these were first defined can they put that in the article? I believe they are attributed to both Drinfeld and Jimbo, but I do not know which articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.111.90.68 (talk) 04:11, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

• You can force html by adding complicated characters or simply forcing spaces: $\ \phi$. You can also change phi in LaTex: $\varphi$ - that's closer to html. --Anton (talk) 20:37, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Notation

What does $R\Delta (x)$ mean? $R\in H\otimes H,\Delta (x)\in H\otimes H$, how are they multiplied? Is there a multiplication omitted? Or comultiplication? Or else? --Anton (talk) 20:37, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Multiply in the usual way (a # b)(c # d) = ac # bd, so that $R\Delta (x)=R(x_{1}\otimes x_{2})$ (summation omitted). Does it help? 130.54.16.83 (talk) 05:57, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
