First entry added for this topic. I can add in references to this one from related articles (e.g Advertising, AdWords) but will wait for initial comments from editors / reviewers.

This is a hot topic in the huge advertising industry, so expect many corrections & additions. I will try to monitor the article for a while to spot & remove the inevitable attempts to use the article for the purpose of advertising vendor products and services.
