Nevertheless

[edit]

The current page states "is any newly formed word, term, or phrase that nevertheless has achieved popular or institutional recognition and is becoming accepted into mainstream language". Nevertheless what? It isn't clear even in the initial edit https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Neologism&oldid=1158732740

It's a bit odd that an article around linguistics has held a semantically meaningless summary for a year. I have no formal background in the field and hesitate to correct the grammar as I'm quite certain I'll fall foul of the classic trope. Youse lot generally think ussins need to wise the bap, so I'll houl me wisht.

'Vibe coding' doesn't look like it fits in

[edit]

'Vibe coding' is a two-word phrase instead of a single word. This is good, as it helps support the broad definition of neologism; but it and its long definition stand out from the other examples in a distracting way.

The Examples section should be expanded and diversified. Adding a citation of 'vibe coding' being used in an institutional context would also be helpful. ~2026-39222-44 (talk) 23:42, 10 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Also, the description of vibe coding should be changed to fit the etymological format set by the other examples. ~2026-39222-44 (talk) 23:47, 10 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

ruguanxue as an example

[edit]

It doesn't seem like an example that would be given for an English speaker. Should it be removed? Pawelnougoed (talk) 19:34, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
