Criticisms of Smallwood

[edit]

I know there's a lot of criticism of Smallwood out there, particularly having to do with one-sided deals with Quebec on hydroelectric dams in Labrador. (Didn't one of them infamously not account for inflation, or something like that?)

Anyway, this criticism should be in the article in an NPOV manner. I'm removed this addition, since saying that Smallwood 'sold out' Newfoundland and Labrador is obviously not appropriate. --Saforrest 19:53, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't care how Non-NPOV this is, but it should be mentioned that the Broomfield family has suffered under the wrath of this one. I don't care who he became, it's obvious that something bad happened when we confederated, and there was no way we WEREN'T confederating because the competition was forcefully ejected from the election. Also, he sold those rights to the energy for a DOLLAR. One dollar. And then the US bought them from Quebec at a substantial profit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.238.210.3 (talk) 18:05, 3 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Criticisms

[edit]

The "Criticisms" noted in the change you linked were not of any users POV, but of a very large group of people. i suggest these be kept, but possibly be reworded.

Prison?

[edit]

I saw somewhere that Smallwood spent some time in prison? Is this accurate, and if so, when and why? DS 14:14, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Assessment

[edit]

I have assessed this as Start Class, as it contains more detail than would be expected of a Stub, although it lacks organization and proper referencing. I have assessed this as high importance, as I feel that the subject of the article is vital to an understanding of Canada. Cheers, CP 16:39, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Frederick Gordon Bradley?

[edit]

The picture caption states:

"Bradley, King and Smallwood, at the Liberal party convention of 1948"

Could we clarify whether this was Frederick Gordon Bradley? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Gordon_Bradley  Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.174.140.195 (talk) 01:37, 28 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
