Material from Internet Archive was split out into Wayback Machine. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted so long as the latter page exists. Please leave this template in place to link the article histories and preserve this attribution.
Basically, he and other IA users had their content privated or deleted without explanation, and many of them had their accounts outright banned, and IA staff are not giving proper responses (and for many, not giving responses at all).
The YouTuber has also expressed his grievances about Marion Stokes' tapes and the continuous delay archiving them.
This could have serious implications. If IA is deleting content it doesn't like, it means IA is no longer reliable. I don't want to start an RfC, but we have to discuss this. RedDeadGuy (talk) 02:41, 22 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Nope. Person uploaded copyrighted materials without permission, they were removed from public view at IA. That's their normal process. The video claims there's other copyrighted materials, but many of those projects have gotten approval from the copyright owners to host at IA. And in the other cases, IA itself is not scrubbing the uploads, they only respond to DCMA requests to take down when they are warned. This person probably got called out at IA by whomever owned the magazine scans he had (like Future) and was pulled. Masem (t) 14:04, 29 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
This has nothing to do with whether IA is a reliable source, because IA is not the source of the PS2 demo discs. IA is not obligated to host everything everyone has ever uploaded. The problem with archive.today was that they maliciously edited their archives of historical websites to present false archives. IA has never done that.
