Bearcat, Does this draft need to stay protected? Now the talk page is getting inundated with broken edit requests and it's making even more of a mess. I've removed them as duplicative and generally impossible to tell who wants what or why. I'm perfectly happy to have the page unprotected if and when it can be properly guaranteed that it won't get put back into categories again. The problem has been that the anonymous IP received more than one talk page advisory about WP:DRAFTNOCAT, yet persisted in putting the page back into categories again multiple times even after those advisories — but it's not my job to just patiently keep pulling the page out of categories over and over again, it's the anon's job to follow the rules and not put the page back into categories. (But, of course, editblocking is entirely ineffective with anons, because they can just come back with a different anon ID five minutes later.) So yeah, if it can be guaranteed that the anon won't put the page back into categories again, then I'm happy to unprotect the page — but if I unprotect it and then it gets put back into categories again, heads will roll and I don't mean mine. One time can be excused as a good-faith error — multiple times, continuing even after being advised to stop, crosses over into disruption. Bearcat (talk) 22:38, 29 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
