History

[edit]

In August 2006, Jaydee Living was incorporated as a private limited company. It began as a supplier in the waste management sector and later expanded its business through providing retail services on premises equipment, street furniture and school supplies.

The company started their business operations in Cotswolds region before moving to its current registered office at Unit 2, Chosen View Road, Kingsditch Trading Estate, Cheltenham.[2]

In 2010, RecyclingBins.co.uk was established and supplies recycling bins and related waste management products. The website has published information and educational materials relating to recycling and waste management[3]

WheelieBins.co.ukwas established in 2011 and specialises in wheelie bins and otherwaste containers for domestic, commercial, and public sectors.

In 2015, The Independent reported on a RecyclingBins.co.uk study that analysed environmental measures in European cities including recycling initiatives, cleanliness, emissions and environmentally friendly transport. The study placed Bristol sixth among the cities examined and described it as the only UK city in the top ten.[4]

The website's recycling-related resources have also been referenced in consumer discussions about household waste and recycling. Discussions on the MoneySavingExpert Forum have included links to RecyclingBins.co.uk including threads on household recycling, compostable bags and recycling.[5][6][7]

In 2020, WheelieBins.co.uk sponsored an attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the fastest wheelie bin. The attempt was made by engineer Andy Jennings at the Straightliners land speed event at Elvington Airfield in North Yorkshire. Jennings reached a speed of approximately 43mph in a motorised wheelie bin, setting a new Guinness World Record at the time.[8][9]

In October 2021, WheelieBins.co.uk appeared on Channel 4 in Celebrity Trash Monsters: What's Your Waste Size?, a programme examining household waste and recycling. The programme aired on 17 October 2021.[10]

In April 2025 Jaydee Living Limited won a contract on the UK's Find a Tender service for the West Midlands Police estate. It was listed as the supplier for 3,420 internal waste bins meant for food waste, recycling, and general waste collection. These waste bins were placed across the whole organization's premises.[11]

Community and sponsorship

[edit]

Jaydee Living has sponsored Cheltenham Town Football Club in the Cheltenham area. The company was a sponsor of the club during the 2025–26 season and continued its partnership for the 2026–27 season as the club's Back of Shorts Partner.[12]

In April 2026, the company and the club organised a "Top Bin Challenge" involving 120-litre wheelie bins and football shots. The activity was also held for supporters during half-time of Cheltenham Town's match against Newport County on 18 April 2026. The event raised donations for Cheltenham Town Community Trust.[13][14]
