The Personal Life section states that Padma Lakshmi was 28 at the time of their marriage in 2004, however her entry lists her birth year as 1970 which would make her 33-34. Looks like someone edited the picture of Rushdie after the recent attack of him, where he is expected to lose an eye, to look like one eye is covered by a patch etc. This looks like a poorly edited photo and someone trying to mock him-- this happened a few days ago and he's not had public sightings since then in an eyepatch etc. This doesn't look like it was done in good faith. I'd recommend changing the photo to the original until there's a new updated photo of him.
I didn't know who he was till 5 minutes ago when his name came up in the news and I clicked his wikipedia out of curiousity so I don't really have a stake one way or another. though I'm understanding after reading the talk page etc that he's controversial to some folks/his work is controversial.

For some reason my computer was showing the attack as being a few days ago- /i was getting a weird timeline. Maybe he just did an event about the book etc, please ignore my above comment, the picture I'm guessing is the one he has approved. The picture just looked oddly edited initially. Forgive me as I am not an experienced Wikipedia user, but I thought it would be worth discussing this sentence here (under the Career > Literary works section):
"In our contemporary world – saturated with reality TV, talk shows and other forms of pure entertainment – apathy, passivity and inaction have become defining features."
Is this not more of an opinion than a fact about Salman Rushdie?
