9/11 unsurprisingly joins two court cases atop this week's Report, which also goes to the tennis court and shows reader interest in politics and film.

1	Killing of the Clancy children		1,901,020		This week, three jurors have spoken out saying that the case was "an emotional roller coaster" and having a result as, in Wikipedia terms, "no consensus", was "awful". These three wished there won't be a second trial, but if there is one, they would support Clancy. Perhaps this case would increase people's awareness of mental health.
2	Elizabeth Holmes		1,712,595		For a less hideous crime story (especially as this criminal's two children are alive), the entrepreneur who promised a healthcare revolution with Theranos that only resulted in defrauding investors and Holmes being sentenced to a decade in prison. Already the subject of an HBO documentary and a Hulu miniseries, Holmes now has a documentary (#14) covering her life starting right before she was sent to jail.
3	September 11 attacks		1,577,890		It has been 25 years since the horrible attacks that took down the Twin Towers and a side of the Pentagon, and this year, organizers (that is, artists, producers, 9/11 families, survivors and first responders) have put together a drone show with 2977 drones, titled "2,977 Lights Over New York Harbor", one for each victim of the attack (excluding the 19 hijackers). And that number of deaths doesn't even include those who have died due to complications from breathing the polluted air, among other health issues. In short, Never Forget.
4	Ben Shelton		1,057,388		In a match that began at 11:00 PM and finished at 3:33 in the morning, this American tennis player upset defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinal of the US Open. He defeated #12 in the semifinals, giving hope for the first native US Open winner since 2003, but he was defeated by Alexander Zverev. Despite the loss, this performance bumped Shelton to a career-high ranking of world number 4.
5	Deaths in 2026		981,529		Baby, come on You know what you've always wanted to do But there's one life for you...
6	Hanuman Ansh		948,090		This Hindi biographical film, with a literal translation of Descendant Of Hanuman, given it's about guru Neem Karoli Baba (#21) starting his career as a devotee of said deity, turned into a surprise blockbuster and is the most profitable Indian film ever, with a worldwide grossing of ₹291.40 crore within the first 40 days of release, as compared to a budget of less than ₹2 crore, and is listed as the 3rd highest-grossing Hindi film and the 9th highest grossing Indian film, both within 2026. Two sequels are on the way.
7	Elena Rybakina		920,230		The WTA rankings have a new top player, and it's the Russian-turned-Kazakhstani who triumphed at the US Open over her rival who was the defending leader down there at #9. The title also marked that Rybakina only needs the French Open to complete the career Grand Slam.
8	Mirzapur (film)		891,939		One of Bollywood's biggest hits of the year is a crime thriller serving as a sequel to an eponymous Prime Video show, set at the eponymous Indian city.
9	Aryna Sabalenka		673,796		Back to tennis, like at the Australian Open in January, #7 beat the Belarusian who was both the defending US Open champion and the leader of the WTA rankings since October 2024, finishing a streak of 99 weeks at the top (and 107 overall, as after Sabalenka outlasted Iga Swiatek at the 2023 US Open she also took #1 for 8 weeks before her Polish rival beat her at the 2023 WTA Finals).
10	The Gentlemen (2024 TV series)		650,224		The second season of this Guy Ritchie-created show premiered on September 3rd. The show is a spin-off set in the same universe as the 2019 film of the same name, and has so far received mostly positive reviews.
11	United Airlines Flight 93		644,223		Even though American Airlines Flight 11, the first crash related to #3, was featured on the main page on 9/11, the last crash, the one where passengers and crew members fought back against hijackers, the one that failed to crash in the original location, the one that crashed in a field instead, and the one with the least casualties (even though all onboard died), apparently had more interest within Wikipedia readers than AA 11 – weekly totals 349k – possibly due to how those onboard had prevented that day from turning even more catastrophic (the United 93 film also makes the flight quite notable), thus making it to our Report.
12	Frances Tiafoe		610,921		#4's adversary at the semifinal was also an American, of Sierra Leone descent, who will climb in the ATP rankings, up to eighth.
13	Charlie Kirk		595,904		While September 11 might be the anniversary of #3, the day before (September 10) marked the first anniversary of Kirk's death, which broke Wikipedia viewership records (it's still the only page to get 30 million views in a week).
14	You Can See Everything		594,338		While on trial for fraud, #2 expressed interest in telling her life story, and filmmakers Nathan Fielder (#24) and Lance Oppenheim decided to answer the call. And this week the result premiered as a secret screening at the 53rd Telluride Film Festival, with a theatrical release by A24 to follow on October 16. You Can See Everything starts at the home of Holmes, her partner Billy Evans and their two children 34 days before she went to prison and goes on to cover their lives in the the following three years, while also featuring interviews with Amanda Seyfried, who played Holmes in the miniseries The Dropout.
15	Toxic (2026 film)		573,011		Even though this film might be the 3rd highest-grossing Indian film of 2026, unlike #6, this was a flop and it couldn't even break even, with a budget of ₹500–1000 crore compared to a worldwide gross of ₹340.43 crore!
16	G. D. Naidu		566,280		The "Edison of India" is the subject of G.D.N, a biopic now on Netflix.
17	Spider-Man: Brand New Day		534,896		Finally out of the top 10, and right before it will concede the top of the American box office to Practical Magic 2, of all things. Still, Spidey's latest foray is the third highest-grossing movie ever and will possibly end 2026 as the year's #1 film, unless Avengers: Doomsday repeats the Endgame-level earnings of Brand New Day – with a December 18 release date, it only has two weeks to do so before 2026 comes to a close!
18	The Falling Man		500,391		One of the many depictions of #3 by Richard Drew for the Associated Press, which was initially criticised the day after the attacks, but over the years it has become "the most beautiful image of something so tragic", as said by Elton John. Many people tried to find the identity of the individual, though in the writer's own opinion, that might not be a necessity.
19	The Odyssey (2026 film)		498,828		It is the film's 10th appearance on our Report now, and just like #17, readership has been slowing down now that it has been out in theatres for two months, but the fact that it has appeared on the Report for about the same time as the period where the film was screened goes to show just how popular Christopher Nolan's adaptation of the original poem is. And for those wondering what Nolan's next film is, to put it simply, he needs a break, and we'll need to wait for at least July 2029.
20	2026 Saxony-Anhalt state election		486,059		Saxony-Anhalt might not be as relevant a German state as Bavaria, Brandenburg or plain Saxony, but its latest legislative elections drew worldwide attention out of worry that right-wing extremists (#23) would be the most voted party, which ended up happening.
21	Neem Karoli Baba		476,708		On first glance, viewers outside of India would go "why is this person who died in 1973 resuming in pageviews again?". But take a good look at #6 and you'll see why, given this guru will get a whole trilogy of movies...
22	Anna's Archive		474,359		For some reason the internet is obsessed with learning more about this shadow library, with views for 2026 being consistently higher than the same day in 2025. While it began because the site was sued to the hell and back and started jumping between mirrors to remain functioning, perhaps the continuous interest could be to show support for digital preservation in the age where AI is destroying books, though both are considered illegal (that is, both AI training and resource preservation often infringing on copyright, fair use aside).
23	Alternative for Germany		469,789		No, not our articles for deletion process, both coincidentally abbreviated AFD, but the political party with the highest performance of 43.8% in #20, drawing international attention, as you'd think Germany would be a place concerned about the far-right rising.
24	Nathan Fielder		464,290		While working on both the HBO docu-comedy The Rehearsal and the Showtime limited series The Curse, this Canadian filmmaker, actor, and comedian decided to make a movie about #2 alongside documentarian Lance Oppenheim. The result, up there at #14, also extensively features Fielder in front of the camera as the directors felt his strange and awkward interactions interviewing Holmes made for material that shouldn't be cut.
25	Coyote vs. Acme		462,735		Keeping off Lanterns is a movie that if the original plans were followed through could've just been found alongside that show on HBO Max, coming out as a streaming exclusive in 2023. Instead the higher-ups at Warner Bros. thought about wiping the movie as a tax write-off, leading to widespread protests by Looney Tunes and just plain film fans everywhere, ultimately prompting the production to be picked up by Ketchup Entertainment (who also had previously gotten the animation Looney Tunes: The Day the Earth Blew Up) and get a theatrical release. The result was that Wile E. Coyote deciding to sue the ACME Corporation for all the faulty equipment that caused him pain pursuing the Road Runner was hailed as a good movie and the best Looney Tunes animation\live-action hybrid, while its box office earnings already surpassed the $50 million spent by Ketchup even if release and promotion weren't as wide given it was a minor distributor rather than a major studio doing so.
