This is a collection of discussions on the deletion and merging of articles related to Police. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Police|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Police. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

Delete: This unreferenced, redundant article duplicates content better handled elsewhere. Its historical focus on the "Bosna" unit is comprehensively covered in Special Police Squad "Bosna", while post-Dayton structural details are already detailed in Law enforcement in Bosnia and Herzegovina and related entity pages. Carrying a No footnotes tag since January 2025 with zero inline citations, it has no independent reason to exist. A redirect is unnecessary since superior destination articles already exist. Hi, so I'm here because at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion#How_to_nominate_a_single_page_for_deletion it says "post a message at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion requesting that someone else perform the nomination, making sure to explain your rationale there."
The article is Brunswick Star https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brunswick_star. It has two references but neither even uses the term Brunswick Star.
The reference desk editors tried to find sources to improve this and could not. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reference_desk/Archives/Humanities/2026_July_1#Brunswick_star
Notably, they also couldn't find the term used in published heraldry books.
So possibly this is not a real term and the article should be deleted?

- Comment It's certainly a real thing - see many references from the 19th century regarding its use in regimental badges, and also in cut-glass decoration and postal cancellation stamps - but I'm not convinced it has a single clear definition. Going by the number of hits in more recent sources, the quilting pattern with the same name may have a good claim to being the primary topic now. Adam Sampson (talk) 16:00, 26 July 2026 (UTC)

- Keep - the Brunswick Star pattern is a real term as stated in the above comment. It is discussed as used on a badge in some British military regiments in this book. It's also referenced in books about cut-glass (e.g. English and Irish Cut Glass 1750-1950 by E.M. Elville, 1953), articles about cut glass, and in quilting, such a museum website, and a university collection.
