The storm barely had any impacts and any impacts it had can easily be contained in 2014 Pacific typhoon season. I know a past merge proposal into November 2014 Bering Sea cyclone failed, but many expressed it wasn’t notable enough and should just be in the pacific typhoon article. ~2026-53478-79 (talk) 18:20, 4 October 2026 (UTC)reply

Despite being WP:REFBOMBed, this British law firm does not appear to be notable under WP:NCORP. Across 72 sources, there is not a single one that shows WP:SIGCOV in WP:SIRS. Instead, the sources are:

The best source is this one, but the company still only gets a few mentions in a much longer article and I don't think it's even close to SIGCOV. There's so much reliance on primary sources and sources that don't mention the subject that I consider this to be a piece of original research and thus fails both WP:NCORP and the WP:NOT test. And while I don't detect strong WP:AISIGNS, earlier versions included dead links in sources that were dead at the time of publishing, and the page creator acknowledged using AI to format citations, so it's possible there is a need to look for AI-related issues as well. Does not pass WP:GNG nor WP:NSCHOOL. Most mentions are trivial or routine coverage, and those that aren't are for one event that only received coverage for a few months and seemingly left no impact, thus it's not sustained. smallest red boy (talk • contribs) 19:02, 4 October 2026 (UTC)reply

The school does not pass WP:GNG / WP:NSCHOOL as there is not enough WP:SIGCOV. Most of the online articles are just mentions in city events, and the other two are routine coverage of 1) violence in the school and 2) a science activity. smallest red boy (talk • contribs) 18:55, 4 October 2026 (UTC)reply

A small school that closed in 2012 after 19 years of operation, and which did not seem to gain significant coverage while it existed. It is briefly mentioned in an EWTN article, but our best source is a short treatment local newspaper. So it does not seem we have multiple sources addressing the subject of the article directly and in depth, as required by WP:SIRS. Since the school is closed, significant coverage is unlikely to appear in the future. Arbitrarily0 (talk) 15:52, 4 October 2026 (UTC)reply

Kesava Pillai of Kandamath (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)

In traditional land tenure systems (and still recognized under modern Indian property law), a temple deity or family guardian spirit is treated as a "juridical person" capable of owning land.It does not imply that a royal king owned the village of Chenkal.Outside of the specific claims made by that family lineage—which have subsequently been mirrored on crowdsourced public platforms like Wikipedia—there is no independent, authoritative historical record or royal text that documents a sovereign "Kandamath Palace" as a seat of regional rule. The claim that he was a documented Jenmi or "Zamindar" who held massive tracts exists only on that Wikipedia page and its mirror sites—it does not exist in the actual sovereign archives of Travancore."Madom Thampuran Vaka" is standard tax and property terminology denoting land assigned to a family shrine or guardian spirit.Modern family chroniclers or casual internet editors took that exact property phrase from old deeds, misread the word "Thampuran" as a literal royal king, upgraded the family's ancestral Madom (homestead) into a "medieval palace," and pasted it onto Wikipedia. Over time, lazy internet copy-pasting turned a private family claim into a pseudo-historical "fact."The most damning proof against the palace narrative is its complete absence from official archaeological and cultural documentations. The Government of Kerala's Archaeology Department and extensive regional historical surveys (like the Heritage Series Thiruvananthapuram directories) meticulously catalog every single legitimate ruined fort, summer house, Kottaram, and Kovilakam in the Neyyattinkara and Amaravila belt. While they document authentic historical landmarks like the Ammachi Plavu or local Ay-dynasty relics, no state survey lists or recognizes a "Kandamath Palace".The claim on Wikipedia that Kesava Pillai was born in Vaikom in 1830 to a Namboothiri father exposes the absolute ignorance of the editors regarding 19th-century Marumakkathayam (matrilineal succession) and Sambandham marriage customs. Under Marumakkathayam, a child belong strictly to the mother's Tharavad and is always born at the mother's ancestral home. The father (especially a Namboothiri) merely visited the mother's house; the pregnant mother would never travel to or give birth at the father's estate. For Kesava Pillai to inherit the Kandamath estate in Chenkal under matrilineal law, his mother had to be rooted right there in the local Chenkal lineage. Claiming he was born at his father's house in Vaikom is a structural and anthropological impossibility designed to insert a prestigious geographic narrative while completely erasing the mother's identity (which explains why her name is conveniently omitted from their text). The narrative attempts to paint the family as a "cadet branch of the ancient line of Odanad rulers from the Kayamkulam Kingdom" seeking refuge in Chenkal during "medieval times." • The Math Defeating the Myth: The historic Kayamkulam War, where Marthanda Varma annexed the Odanad kingdom, famously concluded in 1746. If Kesava Pillai was born in 1830, placing the family's migration as "refugees from the Kayamkulam war" creates a massive, absurd chronological gap. This lazy juxtaposition of historical events completely falls apart under basic timeline verification. The profile picture uploaded on Wikipedia to represent the "Pillai of Kandamath" is nothing more than a cropped detail of a famous 1881 historical oil painting by Raja Ravi Varma. The canvas is titled "The Maharaja of Travancore and his younger brother welcoming Richard Temple-Nugent-Brydges-Chandos-Grenville, 3rd Duke of Buckingham and Chandos, Governor-General of Madras, on his official visit to Trivandrum in 1880". • The noblemen depicted standing in the background are standard members of the Travancore royal retinue and the Nair Brigade. Cropping a random face out of a famous, globally cataloged historical masterpiece and labeling it as a private family portrait of "Kesava Pillai" is a laughable act of modern forgery. The Wikipedia article states: "He was nominated for the seat of Neyyatinkara Taluk by the Maharajah in the newly formed Sree Mulam Council". This sentence alone contains an absolute historical and institutional impossibility:The Popular Assembly (Praja Sabha) which was formed in 1904, represented local taluks and land-holdings, and its members were strictly recorded in the Proceeding records. If he were nominated by the Maharaja to represent Neyyattinkara, his name must have appeared on pages 55–56 of the 1905 Almanac. Its absence is definitive proof he was never there. The "Sree Mulam Council" (upper house) did not have local taluk-level representatives nominated in that manner. The editors fabricated a political title by mixing up the terminology of two entirely different governing bodies.Official Travancore records from that exact 1904–1910 period show completely different, well-documented figures representing the Neyyattinkara region. Most famously, the legendary social reformer Ayyankali was nominated to the Sree Moolam Popular Assembly in 1911 to represent the region, and the fiery journalist Swadeshabhimani Ramakrishna Pillai was elected to the Assembly in 1910 specifically from the Neyyattinkara constituency. The official records are fully accounted for, and there is simply no historical "vacancy" or record for a Kesava Pillai of Kandamath. When family chroniclers try to engineer a "royal" or "elite political" ancestry, they look for prestigious historic institutions to attach their ancestors' names to. Because the Sree Moolam Popular Assembly was India's very first popularly elected legislature, it carries massive historical prestige. The writers assumed that because it happened over a century ago, nobody would ever go to the archives. OutroCanary (talk) 15:40, 4 October 2026 (UTC)reply

Why not stubify the article? The sources from the edit history could be useful in rewriting the article. Katzrockso (talk) 07:46, 18 September 2026 (UTC)reply
Stubification is fine, but someone should do it first. There is an obvious tension with WP:ATD-E, but WP:NEWLLM enjoys community support both in terms of wording and practice, and is more specific. Another practical issue is that unless the article is made compliant now, it won't be made compliant in the near future (yes, WP:NODEADLINE, but everything has a deadline). Kelob2678 (talk) 08:02, 18 September 2026 (UTC)reply
I would do it, but the last time I performed stubification during an AfD, it wasn't taken well. I would commit to stubifying following the result of the AfD.
The editing policy (which takes precedence over the NOLLM guideline? states that editors should Fix problems if you can, tag or remove them if you can't. Preserve appropriate content. Removing all the content but even just one or two sentences from the lead (rewritten if necessary) would remove all problematic AI generated content and would address all relevant reasons for deletion. The deletion policy (specifically WP:ATD) says If editing can address all relevant reasons for deletion, this should be done rather than deleting the page. There is no rationale for why deleting the article is preferable to stubifying it - a notable topic would belong in a finished encyclopedia, so PRESERVE mandates that we keep it in some form. Katzrockso (talk) 18:33, 18 September 2026 (UTC)reply
If you rewrite the article, I will change my vote. Actual community practice is more important than the text of policies and guidelines. It is clear that the community wants articles like this to be deleted, and I see no reason to dissent. If consensus were different, I would vote differently. Kelob2678 (talk) 19:03, 18 September 2026 (UTC)reply
Regarding the last time I performed stubification during an AfD, it wasn't taken well, I recall this ANI thread (from WP:ARBDEL) in which the policy-compliant phrase (per WP:OVERCOME and WP:NEXIST) Article improvement is *not* a proper response in the middle of an AfD where the article is essentially rewritten and materially different was criticized. In this case, article improvement actually addresses the underlying issue. Kelob2678 (talk) 08:07, 19 September 2026 (UTC)reply
Keep but stubify to remove NOLLM violations. Quick search on Google scholar found at least ten papers which primarily address this as the subject Katzrockso (talk) 07:48, 18 September 2026 (UTC)reply
The argument that the subject is not in the public parlance is irrelevant - Wikipedia covers topics of both specialist and general interest. There is no requirement in the GNG that a term needs to be known to the general public, only that reliable sources cover the subject. In this case, there are a number of reliable sources, even if those are specialist. Katzrockso (talk) 07:49, 18 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Albanian–Epirote War (1399–1400) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)

I don't think this is notable enough for a standalone article under WP:GNG. I went through the sources currently cited in the article. The only cited source that directly discusses the 1399–1400 conflict in any detail is Spiro Nika Gjirokastra Despotate and John Zenevisi. It discusses Esau de' Buondelmonti's campaign, his defeat and capture by John Zenevisi, and his subsequent ransom, but does not treat this as a separate war under the name "Albanian–Epirote War". Oliver Jens Schmitt is a broad overview of the Balkans, while the Historical and architectural documentation of buildings Gjirokaster and the University of Johannesburg UJ Research Documentation & Archival Content do not provide significant independent coverage of a distinct war of this name. I also searched for "Albanian–Epirote War (1399–1400)" and obvious variants in English and Albanian, but could not find independent academic or historical sources treating it as a separate war.

I think merging this article into John Zenevisi is the best option, while preserving the relevant information there. FranéRogoz (talk) 11:00, 4 October 2026 (UTC)reply

None of the sources really meet WP:SIGCOV. She may have worked with famous people, however, that does not equal notability for a stand-alone article at this time. This article is a case of FANCRUFT. It has a whole host of sources, but pretty much all of them either primary (the films and novelisations), unreliable (like IMDB), about the actress instead of the character, and/or about the film instead of the character (like the reviews). Some sources don't mention Rivers at all.

I can't find enough secondary, independent, and reliable sources to justify a standalone article instead of maybe an extended description in the article about the film. Cortador (talk) 07:15, 4 October 2026 (UTC)reply

This article should be merged into INS Vikramaditya, which is the same ship but its current name. Our typical practice with ships is to separate the articles only if the vessel had significant service (e.g. in time or events) in multiple navies. In this case, its short Soviet/Russian service means that the topic can be adequately covered under its current Indian Navy name. • Comment: this is almost certainly the same subject as the first nomination from 2006 that ended in deletion (and with low participation for that era); obviously the potential sourcing (even for a subject around since 1947) has not improved in 20 years (and this iteration of the article has been around since 2007, not all that long after the first nomination). No opinion at this time. WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 02:43, 26 September 2026 (UTC)reply
The 2006 deletion does not establish the outcome of the present discussion. Notability is assessed from the sources available and identified now, and the earlier discussion reportedly had limited participation.
The assertion that sourcing “obviously” has not improved is also premature. A dedicated ARRL article discusses QCWA’s founding, historical membership, chapter development, and 75th anniversary, while additional print-era coverage has been identified in WorldRadio. QCWA’s historical records also indicate that its historian maintained a collection of older books, papers, photographs, and other materials, some intended for scanning and publication.
I agree that QCWA-authored records cannot establish notability and that each publication must be evaluated for independence and depth. However, the prior deletion and the article’s age are not substitutes for examining the presently identified sources under WP:GNG, WP:NORG, and WP:BEFORE. The print-era record should be reviewed before concluding that adequate coverage does not exist. Hamradio007 (talk) 03:07, 26 September 2026 (UTC)reply

  • Weak keep. From an IA search, there's quite a lot of reporting about QCWA in amateur radio magazines worldwide, sustained over the nearly 80 years it's been around, but it tends to be brief. For example: QST and CQ reported on its first meetings in 1948; very short mention in QST in 1950; Radio Electronics in 1952; RSGB Bulletin in 1961; the book So You Want To Be A Ham in 1968; Popular Electronics in 1980; Radiosporting in 1986. A 1977 editorial in 73 is the most in-depth piece I found. Certainly enough to source its history and growth in membership, and some of the activities it's been involved in -- contributing to development of amateur radio licensing in the US, offering scholarships -- but it'd be nice to see a more in-depth discussion of its history (maybe someone should write one for the anniversary next year!). Adam Sampson (talk) 04:25, 26 September 2026 (UTC)reply
Adam, thank you — this was very helpful. I went back through the article and incorporated the archival sources you identified, including the 1948 QST and CQ coverage, the later references in QST, Radio-Electronics, RSGB Bulletin, Popular Electronics, and Radiosporting, Robert Hertzberg’s So You Want to Be a Ham, and the 1977 73 Magazine editorial.
I also cleaned up the citation formatting so the periodicals are cited as magazine sources rather than books, and added a new Historical coverage section to document the sustained published coverage over the decades.
Your suggestion to look beyond readily searchable web sources and into the Internet Archive was excellent and materially improved the article. I appreciate you taking the time to do that research and point me toward those sources.Hamradio007 (talk) 05:11, 27 September 2026 (UTC)reply

No, I am referring to the sources that you implied could be found. Sources, plural, as WP:N specifies. What exactly is preventing you from providing actual citations? AndyTheGrump (talk)
While we certainly prefer that sources be found over deletion when possible, as sources not currently in the article can contribute to notability, we also prefer that we actually know what those sources are over merely suggesting they exist. There are brief reviews, but most do little more than describe the very basics of what is after all just another in a multitude of Linux distro's, with little to distinguish them from their contemporaries. We already have List of Linux distributions, and expanding the entry there (which currently doesn't even cite a source, and fails to give any indication of its release and discontinuation dates) would be far more useful to place it in context. Weak Keep -- sources found so far (credit to @Kelob2678) are just so-so:
  • Softpedia is basically a blog post
  • E-week is substantive but not really sustained
  • German article is very brief coverage.
  • Ars Technica is brief as well.
I found this praising it as the distro was being discontinued. That plus e-week are enough.

  • Comment: this survived the first nomination in 2010, possibly due to the lower standards of the era, but also seemingly based on identified sources that still aren't in the article 16 years later. The second nomination from 2022 was a procedural follow-up to an IP's PROD (which was invalid because of the first nomination), and ended as "no consensus" for attracting no further participation (owing to the prior AfD and its "keep" consensus). Of note, that IP PROD had more-or-less the same rationale as the current nominator, which may be of note with regard to the AN discussion (the prior link to it was invalid); another IP tried a second PROD with more-or-less the same rationale shortly after that second nomination, which was outright declined without any follow-up. That "no consensus" was not enough to resolve the tag for potential NPRODUCT failure in place since 2021. (No opinion on any of this.). WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 20:13, 26 September 2026 (UTC)reply

List of British Asian artists (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

This list is arbitrary and does not pass the notability threshold of WP:NLIST. In the UK, British Asians usually refers to people of subcontinental origin. If you say "he is Asian" to British person, they picture a person of Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan or Bangladeshi origin. The category of "British Asian" applied to all of Asia is not reflecting anything that any contemporary British person recognises as a coherent category, which is why, unlike for British Chinese or British Asian (subcontinental) there are no sources that treat "British Asian" (continental) as a category. At the limit, sources which cover artists with origins from the subcontinent, China and further east may exist, though I have never personally seen any.

There is a census category of "British Asian/Asian", which includes the options "Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi/Chinese/any other Asian please describe". However, people from West and central Asia do not consistently use this and a separate "Arab" category exists outside of Asian. Turks, Iranians and eastern Russians will usually, though not always, tick "White other" or "any other ethnicity". Boynamedsue (talk) 13:31, 26 September 2026 (UTC)reply

  • Hi there. I'll briefly explain my reasoning for creating the page. I came across the List of Black British artists some months ago while research one project, and, separately, more recently, was exploring the British Asians page to look for info about an Asian artist I had in mind. I noted that the section on arts in the latter page was lacking, and thought that a way in which this section could be enriched, without becoming over long, would be to direct to a stand-alone page. I chose "British Asian" as it is a census term. If folks wanted to make a list or article about British Iranian, British-Russian, artists (or theatre makers, writers, etc etc), then that seems like a splendid idea if separate to the aims of this list/ category. I have added some wording to the top of the list to explain the (imperfect, by many measures, but a definition nonetheless, which accords with census use).
EDIT: in addition, I would note that "British Asian art" or "British Asian artist/s" is legible in an art history context, and as a wider cultural term which does have coherence, to discuss artists/makers of Asian descent. See eg. https://www.london.gov.uk/programmes-strategies/arts-and-culture/commission-diversity-public-realm/london-unseen-heritage-tours-and-trails/london-unseen-meet-our-guides/british-asian-visual-art-post-cool-britannia; https://www.museum.manchester.ac.uk/galleries/south-asia-gallery; https://www.vice.com/en/article/where-are-all-the-british-asian-artists-623/; https://www.ucl.ac.uk/slade/2025/03/11/Chai_Shai_FINAL.pdf; https://research.gold.ac.uk/id/eprint/39107/; https://research.gold.ac.uk/id/eprint/33853/; https://doi.org/10.1177/0163443711436356; https://www.manchesterhive.com/display/9781526128737/9781526128737.00008.xml etc. Medievalfran (talk) 15:09, 28 September 2026 (UTC)reply

  • Delete - "British Asian" is a vague term that really isn't defined outside the Office for National Statistics. Looking at the list is seems to be mostly modern/contemporary artists. A better grouping is the article for The Other Story (exhibition). Heavily referenced in this list, but uses the definition Afro-Asian Artists in Post-war Britain. Musician seemingly notable only for a few years' association with The Cranberries. Sources here are primary source Q&A interviews (, , ), a page on a Cranberries fan blog, brief trivial mentions (, , , , ) and sources that don't mention her (, ). I found one review for an EP issued under the name White Prism and one review for a full length album issued under that name, but neither is enough coverage for either or both to be notable under WP:NMUSIC, and thus I don't see a pass for Cranitch under WP:NMUSICIAN or, per the source analysis above, a WP:GNG pass. OK with a redirect to the Cranberries page, where she is mentioned and for which she seems best known. Dclemens1971 (talk) 14:21, 19 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Doesn't appear to meet the notability threshold yet. Only one source can be considered an independent RS with significant coverage (The Standard). Googling didn't bring up better sources. Vgbypw (talk) 07:38, 18 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Non-notable small (7- to 10-person?) startup company that doesn't meet WP:NORG or WP:GNG. In terms of the general coverage, most of what is offered (and seemingly available based on my own WP:BEFORE) is the type of passing mentions in general tech-industry/start-up outlets about funding/incubation/etc. Several of which are in the article. EG: "of 220 companies that applied for this start-up program, 15 were selected" (chronicle.lu and siliconluxembourg.lu), "several Irish start-ups help with waste management - here's 2" (Irish Examiner), "10 small startups got a grant of €50,000 at a local event - Eirvato was one of them" (luxinnovation.lu), etc. Of the coverage which does deal with the company as a primary topic, it is relatively ROTM business coverage (on funding/etc) similar to what we might expect for any other similar startup: "small company raises enough to pay 6 or 7 people for a year" (Irish Times) or "7-person company closes Blanchardstown office due to slow uptake in Ireland - moving instead to 1-person office in Luxembourg" (TheJournal and Fora.ie), etc. The claims to notability in the "recognition" section are incredibly weak: "company was one of 237 finalists (in 26 categories) that didn't win anything at a niche industry awards do" (GreenAwards.ie), "company was one of 1000+(?) others who applied and were selected for a proprietary label" (solarimpulse.com). The text of the article itself describes an otherwise ROTM small <10-person start-up company. Comparable to millions of such small companies globally. While it is great that the creating COI/SPA editor declared a connection, that doesn't override the fundamental notability concerns. (Frankly this is such a clear case that I'd have PROD'ed. Only that this has seemingly been through AfC....) Guliolopez (talk) 09:25, 18 September 2026 (UTC)reply

  • Note: this discussion has been included in the AfD sorting lists for the following topics: Ireland, Luxembourg, and Companies. Guliolopez (talk) 09:29, 18 September 2026 (UTC)reply
    • Comment (article creator, COI disclosed on my user page — offering one source-focused note and leaving the assessment to uninvolved editors). I'd ask that the sources be weighed individually per WP:SIRS rather than as a group. Three stand apart from the accelerator/listing material, which I agree carries little weight: (1) the Irish Times piece is a full-length, bylined article in a national newspaper devoted solely to the company — it goes beyond the transaction to independently describe the product, target sectors and market context; (2) the Silicon Republic article is a dedicated editorial feature, not a reprinted announcement, selected and written by the outlet's editor with analysis of the company's model and strategic shift; (3) Fora/TheJournal published dedicated reporting on the company's strategic decisions, again with the company as the sole subject. That is multiple pieces of significant coverage, in independent national outlets, across several years — which is the WP:GNG/WP:NCORP threshold, even setting aside every routine item the nominator lists. The Recognition section was intended as verifiable fact, not as a notability claim, and I have no objection to trimming it. If consensus is nonetheless that WP:NCORP is not met today, I'd respectfully ask the closing administrator to consider draftify as an alternative to deletion: the company remains operational and the article can return through AfC if and when deeper coverage exists. ~~~~
