  • ... that Pridnestrovian Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic Prime Minister Stanislav Moroz was a participant at the Second Extraordinary Congress of Deputies of the Transnistrian Region of All Levels?
  • Source: Parliament of Transnistria ("On September 2, 1990, the 2nd extraordinary congress of deputies of all levels of Transnistria took place ... Stanislav Moroz was appointed Acting Chairman of the Council of Ministers [which is the same as Prime Minister of Transnistria].") - that source has a slightly different title for the congress - I went off the Russian Wikipedia title for it which is cited to Энциклопедия: Приднестровская Молдавская Республика [Encyclopedia: Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic]

General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: No - While ALT0 is fine, a reminder that WP:DYKCITE now requires hooks to be verified with at least a direct quote instead of AGFing; this issue will need to be rectified for ALT1 to be verified.
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: No - ALT2 says he was the state planner when he was instead part of the collective state planning leadership.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Created seven days before nom and prose is 5962 B. Going with ALT2 since it's more ironic than ALT1 and ALT0 might be too boring. @BeanieFan11 and Dahn: fix the issues and you're good to go (the second ping is because the latter had supplied offline sources and needs to use them to provide quotes if the hook uses them). ミラP@Miraclepine 02:12, 25 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • Concerning the ALT2 issue: would phrasing it as "one of Moldavia's state planners" do the job? I will provide quotes in a short while. (I think ref 2 is by now redundant to anything other than the award; it is probably there because it was there on ruwiki, and personally I would suggest stripping it as a ref for anything other than the award; a reminder that citations should always be double-checked in articles that begin as translated pieces). ("From 1981 he worked as a deputy or first-deputy of the State Planning Committee of the Moldavian SSR.") His role in advancing Transnistrian separatism is a bit self-evident, given his position as premier of the breakaway state, but presumably what is needed here is a citation for his explicit endorsement; I will avoid citing Costaș's play-by-play account of how Moroz participated in the affair -- since, while usable, it is a polemical source; but we can also use Moroz's original critique of the Moldavian state, as paraphrased by L. Dmitriev in "Материалы XXVIII съезда КПСС — в массы. ("our city was founded 200 years ago by the great Russian commander A. V. Suvorov and that is probably why it happened that the national composition of the city's population is Russians, Ukrainians, Moldovans, Bulgarians, Jews, and Gagauz. By the will of fate, our city was the capital of the Moldavian Autonomous Republic. Here, in essence, all the structures of the Moldavian statehood were born. Today, Tiraspol, like other cities and regions of the Left Bank of Moldova, with about a million residents, is under constant psychological pressure. Representatives of the Popular Front are firing from all propaganda calibers against party committees, Councils of People's Deputies, and public organizations. The People's Front proclaimed at its 2nd Congress the dismantling of the "communist regime", the "annulment of existing structures of governance throughout the entire territory of the republic and the creation of new ones, which is a violation of the Constitution of the SSR Moldova, a practical call for the overthrow of the existing state system. It is also puzzling that in a multinational republic the new leadership of the Supreme Council and the government have already been formed by practically mono-nationals, although more than 36 percent of the non-Moldovan population lives in the republic.") I have amended the hook in ALTR 2 to read "one of Moldavia's state planners". Dahn (talk) 06:48, 25 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Dahn: Okay, all issues have been addressed and I'm still going with ALT2. ミラP@Miraclepine 13:56, 25 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
