Goals

  1. Improving Wikipedia's coverage of engineering by creating, expanding, and maintaining such articles.
  2. Providing guidelines and recommendations for articles within the scope of engineering.
  3. Serving as a point of discussions for issues related to engineering in general in Wikipedia.
  4. Helping to coordinate the work of related WikiProjects.

Scope

This project generally considers any article related to engineering to be within its scope. See branches of engineering and categorization for an outline of engineering in general.

Peer review

Our peer review page conducts peer review of articles on request. The primary objective is to encourage better articles by having contributors who may not have worked on articles to examine them and provide ideas for further improvement.

The peer review process is flexible and can deal with articles of any quality.

Requested images

In the category requested images are articles with missing graphics and pictures. You're welcome to upload those images when available under a free license.

Assessment

The assessment page focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's engineering articles.

Assessments are performed via parameters in the {{Engineering}} project banner posted to an article's talk page.

Ratings go from stub over start to C and when almost perfect to B. Articles with a B rating can be nominated as good articles or featured articles. Both of those are not handled in this WikiProject.

Assessment for engineering articles can be requested on Wikipedia:WikiProject Engineering/Assessment#Requesting an assessment.

Articles in need of attention can be found in the category engineering articles needing attention.
