Tornadoes

[edit source]
  • Georgia - South Carolina Outbreak of March 1973- Contained one of the costliest tornadoes in US history
  • I don't know if i should put this here or on a talk page somewhere, but there was a tornado/tornado family that hit several towns in north central Kansas on Tuesday, September 25, 1973. It killed a few people, and the tornado that hit Salina, KS was rated F3. The only problem is I can't find anything that says whether this was a single tornado, a tornado family, or part of a tornado outbreak. I have several newspapers (Salina Journal) from the week that would be useful in writing an article if it turns out that this was something notable. --Ks0stm (TC) 18:15, 7 June 2009 (UTC)reply
As it turns out, this may have been a tornado outbreak...I found a tiny article in one of the newspapers that says:
"The National Weather Service has counted only 59 September tornadoes in Kansas since 1916, but in the past two days there have been 24."
