[edit]What could the name Leptictidium auderiense refer to? I have though of the possibility of it being a reference to the Aude department in France, but it's highly improbable due to the fact that this animal has been found only in Germany. Also, if it was the Aude, it would be something more like "audiensis", wouldn't it? What could it be? Thanks. -- Leptictidium (mammal talk!) 19:51, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

- I don't read German very well, but from this link it looks like there was a Roman site called "Auderia" near what is now Dieburg in the Odenwald. This may be the origin. --Cam (talk) 20:46, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- And I see that the Messel shales are in that district so that must be it. Unfortunately I can't find anything about Auderia in English on the web.--Cam (talk) 20:54, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Spanish
