[edit]Insert text in Powerpoint 2003
[edit]I use Powerpoint 2003. If I cut and paste multi-line text from another document into a slide, it appears as a bullet per line, indented text. I just want it to be "plain text" that i can format as I want. I can get rid of the bullets, but I cannot get rid of the hanging indents that occur whenever a line wraps onto a new line (even when that wrap is caused by a Shift-Enter). Using "Decrease indent"and using the ruler markers does NOT work. The only way I have found I can do it is by creating a new slide and pasting the multi-line text in one line at a time - which is very tedious. - When you're pasting, have you tried right-clicking and pasting "special"? I may be messing up the functionality as it's been a long time since I used Office 2003, but I believe that still provided the ability to right-click and, instead of just pasting, selecting "paste special" as the option just below. When you select that, I think it provides a few different options like "paste values" or "paste formatting" and so on. (Again, I may be messing up specifics). Try different options there, starting with "paste values", and you'll get different behaviour. If you're copying from Excel, that may not work - the rows are rows. So another workaround to try would be to first paste into Notepad and then copy from there. Matt Deres (talk) 15:08, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
- The issue here is the template for the page, that has bulleted list in the box where you are pasting. Change your blank page to have the format you want, then replicate that one. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:37, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
