"file not found" (Word and Notepad)

This happened once before and then the problem went away. Now it's back.

Attempting to Save or Save As in Word or Notepad, I get a file not found" message and am advised to "Check the file name and try again". In the first case the file is actually there (I just opened it) and the second case is not logical.

What can I do?

I've had the same problem occasionally. It happens to me on an old and slow computer, and I've assumed that it was just too slow in opening the folder to save the file, resulting in a confusing error message from Windows. Dbfirs 06:30, 16 July 2018 (UTC)

It seems the file is opened by clicking on a shortcut. Are You using special characters in Your user name? Have a copy of the real file to a different folder or other drive and open from there. Ensure You are not making a copy of a link or shortcut. Else the disk might have a corrupted file system. Backup date before CHKDSK. To figure out having the right file, use cmd the command line type to see if the file contains what You are looking for. What does it mean to tap?

Something went wrong on Facebook a minute ago and I was told to tap to try again (on my desktop computer). I used my mouse to click because that's all I know to do. Sometimes when I pay with a credit card there's a little screen and one of the options is to tap. I went to tap and didn't see an option that looked right. Yes. "Tapping" = "To click on a touch screen". However, that's really beside the point - did Facebook do what you wanted it to? If it did, you did the right thing and I'm not sure what you're really looking for. If it didn't, we could be more helpful if you explained what went wrong. No, Facebook didn't do what I wanted, and I'm not sure what it was supposed to do because it was just an ad or something and not what I was actually wanting to do. The important thing is making sure the Tap page had the right link.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 17:10, 16 July 2018 (UTC)

The same link is in that section as well (first point in technology and last point in computing), so I'm not sure where else you feel it should go. In that sense, I've probably "messed it up" (linking twice to the same place), but I doubt it will cause the encyclopedia to go bankrupt. Matt Deres (talk) 15:05, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
