Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Christianity
| Points of interest related to Christianity on Wikipedia: Outline – History – Portal – Category – WikiProject – Alerts – Deletions – Cleanup – Stubs – Assessment – To-do |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion and merging of articles related to Christianity. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion and neither does removing an AfD from this page remove it from the main page at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add
{{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}}to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear. - You should also tag the AfD by adding
{{subst:deletion sorting|Christianity|sig=~~~~}}to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- Edit this page and add
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Christianity. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Fails in GNG and WP:NSCHOOL. My BEOFRE didn't yield anything with SIGCOV to warrant standalone notability. Won't mind withdrawing if useful sources are located. BhikhariInformer 📮 (Ping me or else I won't see it) 17:19, 1 October 2026 (UTC)

- Comment - a quick first look finds some SIGCOV: school's founding history on Roskilde municipal website; 2018 TV2 news story "Roskilde school dominates inventor competition" about school winning national science competition; and 2025 county analysis of school's Kindergarten class. There's also multiple small mentions in local newspaper, like school's ballet program and first international class, etc. And two of the school's science teachers winning dkk300,000 national teacher award . Probably more out there. Might add up to a pass for WP:GNG. — CactusWriter (talk) 00:18, 3 October 2026 (UTC)

- Procedural keep (and close). Nomination doesn't include a valid rationale. "Article quality" isn't a valid deletion rationale and "WP:WPSCH" is a Wikiproject and not a deletion or notability guideline. It is unclear whether the nominator undertook a WP:BEFORE, but in my own BEFORE I found (and have added) a number of sources to allow for expansion and improvement. Doesn't pass WP:NBAND or WP:GNG; only one source meets WP:42, while the rest are trivial mentions, concert announcements, or based on interviews. This includes sources offered by a band member on the talk page. CCM Magazine publishes articles for payment and doesn't appear to publicly disclose which are paid articles. As the article itself points out, we have Saint Anthony of Kiev and Theodosius of Kiev. Why do we need this one too? Anything not already in those two articles can be merged there. Helpful Cat🐈⬛ 15:09, 17 September 2026 (UTC)

- Keep. They're consistently mentioned together, celebrated on the same feast day, cited together, and depicted together on icons. If we didn't have an article on the saints, we'd likely have one on the feast. Jahaza (talk) 20:27, 21 September 2026 (UTC)

Italian priest (BLP). Sources are a routine bio and a passing mention: there isn't anything that would amount to sustained coverage of the kind needed to satisfy WP:BASIC. He also does not seem to rise to the level indicated by WP:RELPEOPLE. Dionysodorus (talk) 00:06, 13 September 2026 (UTC)
- Note: this discussion has been included in the AfD sorting lists for the following topics: Christianity and Italy. WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 00:23, 13 September 2026 (UTC)
Comment: As of this moment, he fails generally because two citations are not enough for a BLP. However, in theory he could pass as a Superior General. I'm hesitant to delete anything in the next few months that might be seen as an excuse by certain powerful figures to justify cancellation of our charitable status. Ping me if you add more. Bearian (talk) 15:37, 16 September 2026 (UTC)
- @Bearian: He's not the Superior General of his Institute, though: he's the "Procurator General". Based on the website of the Institute, the Superior General is Luis Gabriel Barrero, who might perhaps be notable for that reason; but Lenzi is just named briefly lower down that page, alongside several other members of the council of the Institute who also probably aren't notable. Dionysodorus (talk) 15:54, 16 September 2026 (UTC)
- Delete - too soon as per Dionysodorus, with a re-visit later if and when he gets promoted further. The title of Procurator (Catholic canon law) sounds prestigious, and is confusing, because it's used in civil law as a prosecutor or other jurist, but this title is more like a treasurer, bursar, or purser. Thank you for clarifying for the record. Bearian (talk) 18:04, 16 September 2026 (UTC)
