This is a weird one. Large portions of the text are copied+pasted from army.mil subpages. However, other large sections are copied from the above sites. The first was unclear about its copyright status; the second asserts copyright; the third, while a .mil site, is a book written by an outside source and asserts an 1896 copyright. There are also a few sections (notably the one about Mexico) that I couldn't find a source for but believe are also copied from somewhere. There's only a few lines that are probably original work.   • Y That is a weird one. While much of the text is public domain (a book published in 1896 is old enough to be free for use by anyone), I wasn't sure about . However, it turns out that was copied from a US military site, and works of the US government (and employees in commission of their duties) are also PD. The article has been deleted since the verification process was not followed.
