This has been sitting here as a largely unsourced original research essay for over 15 years. Since there's been almost zero attempt to rectify this, I think it should just be removed from the enecylopedia. (Perhaps it could be thrown into a draft for someone to work on over the next 15 years) ZimZalaBim talk 15:35, 18 November 2024 (UTC)

- Delete There may be a list of sources at the bottom, but none of them uses the term "ticket balance" and all are talking about different (but related) things, with this article apparently trying to tie them all together into a coherent concept...textbook WP:OR. This source uses the term "balanced ticket": , but I don't know about its reliability. I can find passing uses of the phrase in different non-RS articles (blogs and so forth) but it's not clear that they're talking about the same thing. - Strong Keep – it took me about 15 minutes to find half a dozen good news articles from different presidential election cycles that mention ticket balancing -- I added them all to this article and will continue to add more. The original author may not have cited any sources, but this is not an original research essay. This is a term frequently mentioned in the news every 4 years, with sources dating back to the 1990s and earlier. Scholars also frequently talk about how JFK picked LBJ to balance the ticket and unite the Democratic party, that was in 1960. It will not be hard to find more sources.
