Ters (Терс) is a mountain in the west of the Kyrgyz Republic, between the Ters and Chatkal rivers.[1] It is 30 kilometres (19 mi) long running roughly south-west to north-east, and between 13 and 15 kilometres (8.1 and 9.3 mi) wide.[1]
The Chaktal side slopes whereas the Ters side is the steeper, with a gorge-like valley.[1] The mountain is mostly crystalline granite, with intrusions of Carboniferous granite-diorite and granite-syenite rock.[1]
It is between 3,000 and 3,300 metres (9,800 and 10,800 ft) high, its highest point being 3,890 metres (12,760 ft).[1] Up to 2,300 metres (7,500 ft) it is covered in field and meadow steppe, meadow and forest bush above that to 2,800 metres (9,200 ft), and above that tall grass meadow and alpine meadow.[1]
