bug

[edit]

Template doesn't work correctly for usernames containing spaces. For example, {{user3|DYLAN LENNON}} comes out DYLAN LENNON (talk  contribs LENNON logs), and the last link finds logs for a user called DYLAN rather than DYLAN LENNON. --Trovatore 06:36, 6 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

You simply have to use underscores instead of spaces. Splarka (rant) 07:02, 6 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
OK, so it's a bug with a workaround; that doesn't make it not a bug. --Trovatore 15:32, 6 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yes it does, since it never worked any other way (but it does make it a limitation): External links (as required for the link to logs) on a wiki are delimited with a space, and you can't (yet) parse out spaces from passed variables. So, not a bug, just a "missing feature". Splarka (rant)
Speaking of which, "bug" fixed. New magic word {{urlencode}} --Splarka (rant) 08:10, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I updated the template with fullurl: rather than {{SERVER}}/wiki/..., which could also have been {{SERVER}}{{localurl:, but fullurl is a combo of server and localurl:.
The check: Jimbo Wales (talk · contribs · logs) Seems to work (Still needs urlencode though)Kevin_b_er 00:17, 1 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
