Size customization issues

@Great Brightstar: Is it possible to rephrase that in order for users with a customized CSS to use their customized sizes instead?

Problem

by specifying a size there, it is not possible to change it in custom CSS unless the phrase !important is used, but this creates another problem when the template has an additional specified text size, e.g. {{script/Arabic|size=200%|فَتْحَةٌ}}, it will remain with the customized !important value, not the further enlarged one, e.g. to display a certain text with certain hard to see diacritics. --Mahmudmasri (talk) 19:43, 24 January 2022 (UTC)

Purpose of template?

Hi! Is this template meant for non-Arabic text only (ie. Pashto, Uyghur) or is it also meant to be used with Arabic titles? The Sorter (talk) 13:48, 6 May 2025 (UTC)

Blocks of text

@Zinnober9 I was originally unable to find a scenario where the <bdi> tag got stripped, which is why I originally reverted you, because the <bdi> block gets moved into the <p> block if one needs to be generated. However, if there are multiple <p> blocks, the <bdi> block doesn't get copied to all the other <p> blocks after the first. That could, theoretically, be an issue in some HTML environments.

... however, none of it matters for us, because the <bdi> block is only needed if there is abutting in-line text which needs to be insulated from interfering with the Arabic text or vice-versa, which there never will be, since no text from outside of the template could ever end up in any of this template's <p> blocks. @Jonesey95 You're right - I've reinstated it. I had intended to redo it to make it less cumbersome and then got sidetracked, which is my fault, but in all honesty these script templates need to be merged with {{lang}}, which can already handle script-only inputs for situations where a language-code isn't appropriate anyway.
