Line breaking

[edit]

I just introduced a parameter for this template allowing pinning for temporary periods of time. It displays the end date in the message box. However, when I turn on a custom time display in my user preferences, the line breaking gets a bit weird. I assume this is because of too many non-breaking spaces implemented in the custom time display preference software, so if anyone wants to address this, that's probably the place to look (I think?). Suppressing display in archives

[edit]

It might make sense to suppress the display of this template when a section is archived. I'm not sure how to do that, though. Would someone else be able to test this out in the template's sandbox? DesertPipeline (talk) 11:09, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Parameters added by Sdkb

[edit]

@Sdkb: Parameters were added in . Template:Pin_section/doc explicitly says "There are intentionally no parameters." Either the doc should be updated or this should be undone.

Additionally, |2= is passed to {{Pin message}} but this template perhaps mistakenly isn't passing it to {{DNAU}}. 174.89.12.36 (talk) 03:48, 20 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for noticing this, IP! Looking at the revision history, it appears that I added documentation when I made the change, but it was a casualty of JzG's accidental mass-rollback which was never properly cleaned up. I've restored it now. Sdkbtalk 04:10, 20 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Stray code

[edit]

Do other users see at Wikipedia talk:Good article nominations#ChristieBot error reporting -- where to look the stray code "{{subst:DNAU|{{{1}}}}"? CMD (talk) 02:42, 28 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

That was because the person who originally inserted it forgot to substitute it. It's fixed now since a bot did it automatically. That incorrect text appears if you use the template without substituting it, since it wasn't designed for that case. Aidan9382 (talk) 09:09, 28 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Ah thanks, explains it. CMD (talk) 09:47, 28 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
