Text on a lot of pages is now black

It seems a recent change to the CollegePrimaryStyle has caused the text on old pages that used it to become black and it usually illegible APocketJoker (talk) 23:28, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

Template-protected edit request on 19 May 2026

I don't know anything about the syntax of the coding, however I do know that the text color is BLACK for all cells using this template, to the contrary of the description page which says it defaults to the school's secondary color as described in the large matrix. Some change recently caused all text to be black instead, which makes it illegible in most cases. Please revert to how this was previously, thank you. Garrettcarrot12 (talk) 16:46, 19 May 2026 (UTC)

That edit was only supposed to keep colors from being hidden while in dark mode. Nobody else has apparently brought up an issue with it in the last two months, so where is this problem occurring? — Dissident93 ^(talk) 17:18, 19 May 2026 (UTC)

Thank you very much, editor Garrettcarrot12! This template's sandbox calls the module's sandbox, which still holds editor Dissident93's code. This template's sandbox was tested in preview mode at 2023 NCAA Division I baseball tournament#All-Tournament Team, and the "LSU" text letters did indeed change from gold to black, which made them illegible against their backgrounds. This is evidence that the edits made by editor Dissident93 were correctly reverted in the live module. Editor Dissident93, your edit summary, "another dark mode fix attempt", would indicate that you might want to try something else. Perhaps this template's usage in this baseball tournament page and section might help you troubleshoot? To editor Dissident93: it's curious that you didn't use the module sandbox to check this before making "test" edits to the live module, which is used on 137,000 pages. You could have then tested your edits at 2023 NCAA Division I baseball tournament#All-Tournament Team. As it is now, that page and section look okay, yes, and I looked at other pages editor Garrettcarrot12 suggested – looks good there as well. Articles call templates, so when a template calls a module, then you have to make sure that the template's sandbox calls the module's sandbox. Then you can make changes to the module sandbox and use the template sandbox to check your edits in the article. Just make sure you don't save the template sandbox on the article page, just check your edits in "preview". In many cases the template's test cases page can also be a big help. In a case like this, when you're not sure whether your edits are getting the job done, you can copy the table code from the article over to your user sandbox (where you can actually save the template sandbox) and check your module edits.
