You may use this template to inform a user about a particular problem in their edit covered by the Wikipedia:Manual of style. Parameters |issue= and |longissue= are available to specify the exact nature of the problem.
This template should always be substituted – use {{subst:Uw-mos1}}. Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot.
Usage
{{subst:Uw-mos1}}
Reference a specific article:
{{subst:Uw-mos1|article}}
Add text onto the end of the message instead of "Thanks" or "Thank you":
{{subst:Uw-mos1|article|additional text}}
This standardized template conforms to guidelines by the user warnings project. You may discuss the visual appearance of these standardized templates (e.g. the image in the top-left corner) at the user warning talk page.
Please refer to the index of message templates before using any template on user talk pages to warn a user. Applying the best template available for your purpose may help reduce confusion from the message you are sending.

To customize your message, you may use positional parameters to add the article, and additional text to the end of the template.
Parameters
There are two positional parameters and two named parameters, all optional:
|1= – article
|2= – additional text (default: Thankyou.)
|issue= – any shortcut in the WP:Manual of style; e.g., MOS:CURLY appends "Specifically, [[MOS:CURLY]]" to the message (see examples 1–3). If the value you provide is *not* an existing shortcut, then whatever value you type is appended to the message (see examples 7–8).
|longissue= – if the value you provide matches a MOS section shortcut in the Manual of style *AND* corresponds to an allowed value (see §Notes), the content of that section is appended to the message (see examples 4–6). (param alias: |long=)
Notes
The value of |issue= may be any string. If it is an existing MOS shortcut, it will be linked and added to the message. Otherwise, whatever value you provide is added to the message.
The value of |longissue= must be a valid MOS shortcut, and must be a permitted value. Specify the value in all caps, and always include the MOS: prefix; e.g.: |longissue=MOS:BOLD, MOS:CURLY, MOS:TIES, etc. Any shortcut in the following list of permitted values comprising the most common MOS shortcuts may be used with |longissue= (note that they are shown in lowercase below to avoid SHOUTING, and the MOS: prefix is dropped to save space):

Possible values for param longissue (use upper-case, and prefix with 'MOS:')
Param |issue= can be used to link an existing page or redirect. If the value you enter exists, it will be linked. It adds, Specifically, [[MOS:Shortcut]] to the message. Typically, just place a shortcut redirect here, like, MOS:CAPS, MOS:NUM, etc. (enter the value without brackets)
