Usage
[edit]Use this template to link to Major League Baseball season articles from a particular year. For example, {{MLB Year|1998|disp=full}} will create the following link: 1998 Major League Baseball season.

disp | Optional | Sets display options. Use disp=full to link the full page title (e.g. 1998 Major League Baseball season), disp=abbr to abbreviate the link with "MLB" (e.g. 1998 MLB season) or, in contexts where it has already been indicated that Major League Baseball is the subject, use disp=seas to omit "MLB" (e.g. 1998 season). If this parameter is omitted, only the year will be linked (e.g. 1998). |
This template should not ordinarily be used in prose text when piped only to show a year. Such use is contrary to WP:EGG, and is likely to confuse readers. Instead, limit its use to tables, infoboxes, navboxes, and similar uses, where it is clear from the context that the link is to a particular year in baseball.
