Template:Interwiki copy

This template may be used to give attribution for text copied from other Wikimedia Foundation projects into the English language Wikipedia. You still need to provide a direct link in the edit summary; placing this template on the Talk page of an article is not sufficient to satisfy licensing requirements.

For text copied from within English Wikipedia itself, use {{Copied}}. For text translated from foreign-language Wikipedia projects, please use {{Translated page}} instead.

Usage

Place the following code near the top of the talk page of the English page:

{{Interwiki copy|url= |title= }}

• After |url= place the permanent URL of the Wikimedia Foundation project page you are using.
• After |title= place the exact name of the original page.

Alternatively, provide the source as an interwiki link using Special:PermanentLink:

{{Interwiki copy|source= }}

Don't forget to add a dummy edit in the article to fix attribution problems. For example, for content copied from Simple-Wiki:

Content copied from [[Simple:Wikipedia]]; see that page's history for attribution
