displays as:

Using volume, pages, page

[edit]

{{Cite Grove1900 |title=Ayton, Fanny |volume=4 |page=526 }}

displays as:

Grove, George, ed. (1900). "Ayton, Fanny". A Dictionary of Music and Musicians. Vol. 4. London: Macmillan and Company. p. 526.

Using display

[edit]

The mechanics of Wikisource will sometimes require that a link have disambiguation information which is not part of the original title. The display parameter allows this information to be hidden for the purpose of the citation. For example:

{{Cite Grove1900|wstitle=Ayton, Fanny |display=Fanny Ayton}}

displays as:

Grove, George, ed. (1900). "Fanny Ayton" . A Dictionary of Music and Musicians. London: Macmillan and Company.

Using noicon

[edit]

{{Cite Grove1900|wstitle=Ayton, Fanny|noicon=x}}

displays as:

Grove, George, ed. (1900). "Ayton, Fanny". A Dictionary of Music and Musicians. London: Macmillan and Company.

Using title (no Wikisource link)

[edit]

{{Cite Grove1900 |title=Ayton, Fanny}}

displays as:

Grove, George, ed. (1900). "Ayton, Fanny". A Dictionary of Music and Musicians. London: Macmillan and Company.

When title is being used, url can be used to specify an external link. For example:

{{Cite Grove1900
 |title=Ayton, Fanny
 |volume=4
 |page=526
 |url=https://archive.org/stream/dictionaryofmusi04grovuoft#page/526/mode/1up
}}

displays as:

Grove, George, ed. (1900). "Ayton, Fanny". A Dictionary of Music and Musicians. Vol. 4. London: Macmillan and Company. p. 526..

Using short

[edit]

If a shorter citation is desired, containing the editor of the 1920 edition, the short option can be used. For example:

{{Cite Grove1900|wstitle=Ayton, Fanny|short=x}}

displays as:

"Ayton, Fanny" . A Dictionary of Music and Musicians. 1900.

If another edition besides 1900 is being used, the editor name can be customized using editor-first and editor-last. If used, these two items will be displayed whether or not the long option is specified.
