Template:Cite DAT/doc

Usage

This template is intended to display a citation to the Damage Assessment Toolkit service for data on tornadoes. As the DAT does not support direct links, the template includes a supplementary note explaining how to access the relevant data.

Call the template as:

  | sourcing    = free-text type of event being sourced from the DAT, eg "wind speed" (optional, defaults to generic "this event")
  | accessdate  = date DB accessed (optional)
  | date        = date of database (optional - defaults to "2025")
  | event_id    = database ID of event (optional)
x | event_start = date event started
x | event_end   = date event ended
x | event_date  = single date for event (will override start/end)
  | lat         = latitude as xx North (optional)
  | lon         = longitude as xx West  (optional)

x - For the date of the event, either use |event_date= or |event_start= |event_end=. Always use the local time of the location of the event when filling in event_date, but use GMT when filling in accessdate.
