{{Being created}} is used on pages that have been created and are being added to by a series of incremental improvements. Its intended use is for editors who have made an article and will be adding content within a matter of minutes or hours. If readers see this on an article it shows that the creation was premature. Editors should consider using a sandbox instead.

Articles which have already been created by other editors, already existing in article space, can use the {{Being created}} template unless they determine the {{under construction}} template to be more appropriate.

Usage

• The basic syntax for using this template is:

  • Note |agf=ABF and |xfd=MFD are internal parameters that can change the shortcut, to modify the associated link. |agf= defaults to WP:AGF linking other confusion. The second example changes the link to WP:ABF rendering the link as other confusion. |xfd= defaults to WP:AFD linking nominated for deletion. The second example makes the link WP:MFD.

Results summary

A template message will be placed at the top of the article. This template is a courtesy template, intended to inform people that another editor is actively creating the article. It is intended to note to other editors that reviewing or deleting the article would be premature.

Do not leave this template in an article unless you are actively editing it. Half an hour to an hour between edits is a suggested limit. Other editors, especially those on new page patrol, may be inconvenienced if it is left on, and it may inadvertently discourage others from contributing to the article. Specifying periods of hours or longer for this template goes against the spirit of simply avoiding edit conflicts and procedural problems, and the template may be removed if this is the case, or if the article is otherwise of concern.

This template is not an excuse for constructing articles about non-notable subjects. If an article appears to be spam, blatant advertising, a copyright violation, or a biography of a living person, or any other fundamental policy, it may be blanked or deleted despite the presence of the tag. The tag is a courtesy to other editors, not an excuse for bad editing.

If you wish to create a new article over a longer period of time consider using the {{Under construction}} template. That template encourages others to edit the article while still indicating that it is a work in progress.

{{Under construction}} links talk edit	This template is for articles actively undergoing construction, i.e., continuous improvements spread out over hours, days, or longer. The intent is to signal to other editors that while they may edit the article, they should be a little more forgiving than usual.
{{List under construction}} links talk edit	This template is for lists that have been created but not completed to the creator's intention of completion. Since many lists are very long and creation in a single session is impractical, this template allows the page to be placed in main namespace while it is still being constructed.
{{Recently revised}} links talk edit	The {{Recently revised}} template can be a helpful tool for bringing a page up to Good article or Featured article status through a secondary review. It is not meant to be placed on a page long-term and should not remain on a given page for more than several days.
{{Being closed}} links talk edit	If a formal page discussion or a formal XfD discussion is actively being closed, add {{Being closed}} to the top so editors know they shouldn't comment.
{{Being archived}} links talk edit	If a talk page is actively being archived, add {{Being archived}} to the top so the archival doesn't clobber edits.
{{Being rewritten}} links talk edit	This template is used at the top of an article's talk page to indicate that the article is being rewritten in a sandbox or subpage.
