In the meanwhile: it’s a good policy to have a survey of dates from sources in articles about time periods; for smaller mentions (ex. at the start of “Atenism under Akhenaten” here: “Amenhotep IV, the son of Amenhotep III, was crowned king c. 1353 BC.”) circa is your best friend

I removed some nonsense, added a couple of facts, and gave references. The recipe cited from the Talmud really does exist, so I didn't remove it, but clearly you couldn't make beer that way. I removed the claim that Egyptian beer was unfermented: what is unfermented beer? Anyway, the Greek name means "ferment", so the claim is unlikely to be true. I haven't found evidence that sisni is the Hebrew equivalent of zythos, so I've asked for a citation for that. Andrew Dalby18:16, 28 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
