Liberation, 1945

[edit]

There should perhaps be a link to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Major -- the Canadian who single-handedly liberated Zwolle. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.126.131.46 (talk) 07:20, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Typo?

[edit]

In the History section is says "At least as early as 1911, Zwolle had a considerable trade by river", I'd imagine this river trade pre-dates this by a few years. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.244.251.9 (talk) 10:31, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Zwolle. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Religious institutions

[edit]

I am somewhat surprised no references are made to the many houses of worship in Zwolle.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.69.12.5 (talk) 20:08, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Founding of the SDAP

[edit]

The Social Democratic Workers Party was founded in Zwolle in 1894. This fact is mentioned on the page for the SDAP. This party was a big factor in Dutch history, and the story surrounding it's founding is considered noteable enough in Dutch circles. I don't really have good English sources on hand, but it is a well known and well documented fact. Should I try to work it into the history section? Or does it warrent it's own section?

"In 1894 the Social Democratic Labour party was founded in Zwolle as a split off from the Social Democratic League. This party and it's sucsessor the PVDA have been prominent parts of the political landscape for Zwolle and for the Netherlands as a whole." With maybe a see more to the SDAP page? Per WP:LEGALTHREAT, this is grounds for an ban if they refuse to remove it. ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 🧋🏖 07:42, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Campssitie, what? NLT says A legal threat, in this context, is a threat to engage in an off-wiki ("real life") legal or other governmental process that would target other editors or Wikipedia itself. How does that apply to organizations outside of Wikipedia? 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) (contributions) 14:03, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Uhm... Isn't threatening to calling the police on someone, a threat?

The Commune exercises no control whatsoever upon my edits, and it would be illegal for them to do so. Seriously, if they try to influence my edits, I will immediately call the Police.

Above might be on the grounds of NLT, but not actually a legal threat.
Though, I'll drop my stick onto the ground early, I don't want this to be a debate. ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 🧋🏖 14:52, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sure it is a threat (one that is also clearly a pretty harmless joke IMO), but it isn't a legal threat in the definition NLT gives, as it isn't targeting any other editors or Wikipedia itself. Rather it targets the organization itself. Though I have been disagreed with, so make of that what you will.
I also disagree with adding {{COI}} to this article on the basis of Tgeorgescu (who hasn't edited this article as far as I can tell) being connected to the organization. I have reverted the tag. 45dogs (they/them) (talk page) (contributions) 14:59, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
No no, it's fine, it's just that it's subject to multiple interpretations. they should add a tag clarifying they won't actually call the police to prevent misconceptions /gen
Thanks for reverting, by the way! ★ Campssitie (msg) (contribs) 🧋🏖 15:24, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
