• The journal was among the press's least popular magazines, and Zhang later accused the Commercial Press of maintaining it only for profit, not caring for its editorial direction. Shen Yanbing (better known as Mao Dun) took over editorship of the journal in May 1919 — From context "the journal" here is The Ladies' Journal, but I'd suggest specifying as I got a bit lost in the different publications on my first reading. I also think the chronology could also be made slightly clearer, i.e. that Shen became (de facto?) editor of The Ladies' Journal in 1919, and was then offered the position of editor at Fiction Monthly in addition to his existing position at The Ladies Journal in 1920

• Zhang ran into political tensions with the Commercial Press leadership, including the company's president Wang Yunwu, who was particularly angered by his decision to join an anti-imperialist alliance of academic societies after the May Thirtieth Incident. — Was this in connection to the Women's Questions Research Association, or did he join a separate organisation?
