I am Yoav Avni, the subject of this article, and therefore have a conflict of interest. I would appreciate it if an independent editor could review and implement the following factual and language updates. === 1. Lead paragraph === Please replace the current lead paragraph with: Yoav Avni (Hebrew: יואב אבני; born November 24, 1969) is an Israeli author and literary translator. His novel Three Things for a Desert Island became a bestseller in Israel. His novels HaHamishit Shel Chong Levi and Herzl Amar won the Geffen Award for Best Original Israeli Science Fiction or Fantasy Novel in 2010 and 2012, respectively. This removes the promotional adjective “prominent” while retaining the relevant published achievements. === 2. Biography language corrections === Please replace: “After finishing highschool, Avni joined the Israeli Defence Forces where he served in the Navy and was later re-stationed in the Artillery Corps where he served as a lieutenant.” with: “After finishing high school, Avni joined the Israel Defense Forces, serving first in the Navy and later in the Artillery Corps, where he held the rank of lieutenant.” Please also change “Tel-Aviv” to “Tel Aviv.” === 3.
