[edit]The population number needs updating. The German Wikipedia article says around 2,000; a DW video implies that it is now even much lower. For the entire district, this German site (Yangiobod (District, Uzbekistan) - Population Statistics, Charts, Map and Location (citypopulation.de)) quotes an Uzb. government source: ~29,000.
