The wrong thing in years ago

[edit]

I'm not a registered user. But there should be an edit in 20 years ago to 21 years ago. It's been past Nov 15 already. 2607:FEA8:551D:2E00:EE9B:F3FF:FEC6:2F8E (talk) 02:42, 28 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sorry

[edit]

I made a mistake. It's already showing 21 years ago. I guess it was a glitch.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:551D:2E00:EE9B:F3FF:FEC6:2F8E (talk) 02:44, 28 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Should the Xbox 'Ally' handheld console be added?

[edit]

This new creation from the company already has a bunch of coverage, especially in-depth. However, I am not sure where it would go. For any further inquiries, please start a new section in the entertainment reference desk and ping me when appropriate, so I'm able to provide my evidence, make the statements, and provide all available sources. ѕιη¢єяєℓу ƒяσм, ᗰOᗪ ᑕᖇEᗩTOᖇ 🏡 🗨 📝 20:22, 11 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

On the "Future" subsection, change "Amid industry rumors that Microsoft was abandoning hardware in favor of game development that emerged around Google October 2025" to "Amid industry rumors that Microsoft was abandoning hardware in favor of game development that emerged around Google in October 2025". ~2025-40346-02 (talk) 10:27, 29 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

reason for protection

[edit]

why is this article protected? Tablecloth12 (talk) 20:50, 27 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Per the protection log, it was indefinitely protected, requiring autoconfirmed or extended access rights, in 2016, due to persistent disruptive editing. You yourself will be able to edit Xbox once your account is four days old, since you already have more than ten edits. GSK (talkedits) 21:18, 27 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Should I upload the new ‘liquid glass’ logo and put it as the logo on the page or not? LewisHamiltonfan44 (talk) 15:00, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

The new glass logo is fundamentally the same as the previous logo (just with glass effects applied), so I would say it's not necessary. It also might not pass the threshold of originality with the glass effects, which would mean the new logo would have to be a low resolution version and have a fair use guideline attached. I think it's probably best to leave the current logo as is, at least for now. If the glassy one becomes the face of the brand moving forward in a more prominent way (social media channels still use the flat logo), then it might be worth revisiting. GSK (talkedits) 15:11, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I’ll keep watch of Xbox’s social media in case they change their logos to the glass one LewisHamiltonfan44 (talk) 15:14, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Would you say it’s appropriate for someone to upload the Liquid Glass logo now that it’s taken a more prominent position in the brand? LewisHamiltonfan44 (talk) 12:41, 16 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Normally, I would say yes, but I think I'm going to open a discussion at WT:VG just to be sure. We'd be replacing a free image with a non-free image (the glass logo, which I'm confident (but not completely sure of) is not below the threshold of originality), and I'm fairly certain that this kind of action is prohibited. It will likely end up being that the Xbox article will need to continue using the flat white logo moving forward. GSK 14:47, 16 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
In my opinion, if the XBOX logo is below the threshold of originality, the glass logo likely is too, hence its use would be fine.
The main issue is that the XBOX logo (besides the text "XBOX") is probably not below the threshold of originality. I mean, Tesla did a cease and desist and their logo is about as simple as the XBOX one. I don't know if Microsoft will bother cease and desisting it, but swapping to the liquid glass logo makes it more likely to happen. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 13:08, 17 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Requested grammar fix

Evidence of XBOX

[edit]

I feel like the official XBOX website now being completely XBOX branded is pretty conclusive that this is a full change. If we wouldn't write PlayStation as Playstation then we shouldn't write XBOX as Xbox. Blsupr (talk) 21:45, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

I would agree now. This morning, that wasn't the case. GSK 22:39, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
That's why I submitted move request to Wikipedia:Requested_moves/Technical_requests, though that was yesterday... I still believe it's time, though understand the caution. Contextually the rebrand seems sincere and final. There's still a lot being cleaned up though. Maybe moved in a week, but it's good to bring it up now. ~Sıgehelmus♗(Tøk) 21:51, 19 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Nevermind, barring extreme circumstances it seems MOS:TMRULES sends this dead in the water. See ASUS, so maybe I'll show capitals in lede. ~Sıgehelmus♗(Tøk) 22:03, 19 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request for better Series X/S images

[edit]

I noticed that the Xbox Series X image currently used in the info box appears to be an off‑angle photo taken in someone’s living room. Compared to the high‑quality, white-background images used for the OG Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, this one looks inconsistent with the standard of the other console articles.

Are there any product photos available that could replace it? Meower43 (talk) 12:39, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

We had one user, Evan-Amos, who had been taking and cleaning these pictures used on the other console pages, but last I checked with them, they had been unable to get the latest consoles for such pictures. Because the units are out, we can't use non-free images so we have to have other wikipedians make these photos. Masem (t) 12:49, 27 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
