New species

[edit]

Mabui calculus, new species of Xanthidae crabs have unequal gonopods in male and dissimilar vulvae in female compare to other crabs. Reference: https://phys.org/news/2021-06-crab-species-asymmetrical-reproductive.html

I don't know where I should add above information because this page is related to Xanthidae family of crabs. Please suggest. Laiya K (talk) 15:02, 22 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Rubble crab in movies

[edit]

In the Toho film, Space Amoeba, the crustacean who attacks the island natives is identified as a Rubble Crab though it looks more like a crawdad to me. Perhaps a mix-up between the Art Department and Central Casting. Dbryant 94560 (talk) 19:48, 26 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Name

[edit]

Does anyone know what the name Xanthid is derived from? Might be interesting to include in the article. Semitones (talk) 14:49, 15 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
