Deaths and cancellation
[edit]I brought the information about the number of deaths up into the lead section from the body during a copy edit to strengthen the article but I realise there are issues with this info which is taken from a reported quote by a spokeswoman in the news report at ref 5.
“It's very, very unfortunate,” he said.The helicopter, one of several that take sky divers up for jumps, was grounded for the duration of the investigation, said convention spokeswoman Beth Mahlo. She declined to discuss the accident until the investigation is complete.
About 11 sky-diving deaths were associated with the convention during the 13 years it was held in Quincy before moving to Rantoul this summer, according to Mahlo
This was misquoted by wiki (wrong location given before my edit and "about" qualifier omitted) and is also illogical due to number of years of the convention at previous location not being 13 but 16, if it really was annual, but maybe some years were missed. ~2026-42636-56 (talk) 08:48, 13 September 2026 (UTC)

Was it annual?
[edit]A discrepancy in the number of years mentioned by a spokeswoman suggests that this may not have occurred every year between the dates given. I can't find much evidence of 1994. ~2026-42636-56 (talk) 09:38, 13 September 2026 (UTC)
